Here is what you need to make your own Caramel Treatment. Please treat this as a guide you can play around with quantities to suit your own needs.
If you don't have a sieve you can use muslin cloth to strain the mixture. This prevents bits of banana from ending up on your hair after the treatment.
You can also choose to add your favourite oil. 1 Teaspoon of Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, Almond Oil, or Coconut Oil which ever you prefer or none at all.
Please note if you are allergic to nuts avoid using oils from nuts.
Blend all the ingredients except the cornstarch then pour into a saucepan and heat gently then add the cornstarch to thicken the mixture to a creamy toffee like mixture.
If you chose to use Baby Food Bananas you can skip the blender and just combine the ingredients in a saucepan. Stir the mixture constantly and add cornstarch to thicken the mixture if needed.
Once sufficiently cooled apply to dry hair. Always best to section hair to ensure even coverage. Don a plastic shower cap and let it sit in your hair for 1 hour.
Rinse out completely and follow with your normal cleanse and condition routine.
Some benefits reported with the caramel treatment is incredible moisture, a slight elongation to the curl pattern( this is temporary and will not last) also for those transitioning from relaxed hair this is an excellent way to soften and smooth your new hair growth.
You can freeze any remaining mixture for your next treatment too!
Going forward this treatment can be used once every 4 months.
We have some British Curlies experimenting with this treatment and having much success hopefully you will too!

What happens if u apply it more than 4 months at a time.
I’m definately going to use this. What about avocado’s? Can that be added as I believe they are a good source of protein and thats what I need.
Hi Leyla7 the general guideline is 4 months, I am not sure what happens if you use it more often. Having done it myself I agree 4 months would be enough for my hair.
Hi Goldendiva I think you could use Avocado but try it with the Banana’s first as they contain protein too and the recipe recommends it.Plus the scent factor is too yummy not to
cant wait to try this out!
Wow, this sounds decadent! Just about every ingredient that’s good for the hair’s in this. Thanks for sharing, Keisha X
Am doing this treatment this weekend for definite- cant wait, as i already have my bananas ripening in brown paper bag as we speak!
you just have to do this treatment!!!
i did it about four weeks ago and i just loved it!!!!!!
i have 2c/3a type hair and i still feel how amazing the results are!!
if you are debating whether to do this or not..then let me tell you…DO IT!!! you will not be disappointed!!
I am eager to try this blend but my hair is very humectant sensitive and I fear the large amounts of molasses and honey may do more harm than good. Have any humectant sensitives tried it as yet? Did it work well for you?
tried this treatment a week ago, didnt get measurements quite right (forgot to refer to site lol) but was AMAZING!!! i can see and feel the difference in my hair. it helped define my curls better, give it strength, shine and very nourishing. im a 3c/4a and would recommend this treatment to ANY curly
I’ve just done my first caramel treatment this morning and I must say that the results weren’t astounding. However, this was my very first attempt and I do wish to try this again.
I had a slight problem with getting the mixture to thicken up to a toffee-like consistency and I wonder if that is the problem.
cant wait to try this!!

Beautiful Waves!
Great curls hate being brushed. Never brush your curls when dry the results will be a massive pouf :o)
Charlie Dimmock changed the way many girls with curls felt about themselves. Watching her on Ground Force full mane of curls flowing and keeping up with the boys often surpassing them was fantastic and empowering.
