British Curlies - All About Naturally Beautiful Curls
On further reading it is claimed that Samira chose to quit her position after clashes with bosses on her appearance claims the Daily Mail.

Shocking to me was to read that *sources said she had been called into a room so bosses could point out on pictures of her what was wrong with her hair.
I mean seriously? How mean and low can a company get?
Nothing is wrong with Samira’s beautiful head of curls and in any event her hair is a part of her natural heritage and identity since when is it ok to strip someone of this? I have no idea what they must have put her through or what other humiliations she endured so bravely but all I can say is Samira you have our full support and we know what you are truly worth and you did not deserve to be subjected to this.
You can read the full story in *Saturday’s June 11th Daily Mail page 50.

This is appauling! As well as being sexist, it is actually racial, as Samira’s curls are part of her heritage. Her curls are beautiful, how dare any one say otherwise. I am sick to death of people who think us curlies should straighten our hair, and that curls are messy! Curls are beautiful, I am proud of mine, and think every one else is just jealous.
They must of told her something like straigthen her hair to fit in or something! To bring her the boardroom with the bosses like that is not on. What is wrong with curly hair? @Emmab you are so right!
OMG, i am only just reading this. How appalling!! sexist, racially discriminatory, and i am lacking further adjectives to describe this. :(
I am coming slightly late to this but takes me back to a time when I once had extension single plaits (cut to a neat bob) and the manager said that it looked ‘too ethnic’ so I had to take it out and return to my relaxed hair (I was 17 - so about 20 years ago). I guess this contributed to my overall perception that straight hair was preferred and considered more professional in the workplace.
These days, managers are less likely to verbally mention hair in fear of a HR scandal, but perhaps this is what many senior people still believe (which is a huge shame). There is probably no coincidence that I had my big chop (turned natural) after leaving my permanent job. Now I work freelance and wear a twistout (like in my avatar pic) rather than a wild wash n go!
Samira has large curls and even on the day in question (see link below), still looks fairly neat in comparison to my hair days! Whether they used the hair as an excuse or not, it is concerning on so many levels.
Either way, just like Samira, my curls (messy or neat) are here to stay!

Alex Kingston, WOW is what we say. She took our breath away in Moll Flanders! I think most British Curlies spent the time watching her curls in action. Seriously though Alex Kingston is a real Icon for staying true to her curls despite the pressures of fame and Hollywood.

Just read it here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2002301/Channel-4-presenter-Samira-Ahmed-quits-bosses-say-Your-hairs-scruffy.html
Disgraceful! Yet another excuse, dreamed up by sexists, to sideline women!
