Kelly Forman’s Guide to Quick and Easy Curls

by Kelly Forman

There are 3 simple things to remember when embracing your texture!
1.  Cleanse... reduce the frequency of using a lathering shampoo.  This will vary from person to person based on individual oil output. Focus shampoo on the scalp area and rinse, rinse, rinse! When not cleansing with a lathering shampoo, we encourage Co-washing [washing with your conditioner]for instructions see next.
2. Condition.... focus conditioner on mid shaft to ends.  This the only time you should be combing through your hair... also, leave some conditioner in your hair, don't rinse it all out. Rinse in cool to cold water, this helps LOCK in the moisture, use a t-shirt or Curl Clothe to blot dry your hair, but don't dry you r hair too much!
3. Style... apply product to just shy of DRIPPING WET Hair! Section your hair off and apply gel to each section.  This will be the hardest part to figure out the right amount of gel for your hair, we suggest you err on the too much side first... nobody wants frizz!  If you do not use enough gel you will have frizz, if you use too much it may get a tiny bit crunchy, but let it DRY Completely and then scrunch.  The excess product will come off and you will be left with soft to the touch hair! Next time back off a little until you get the perfect amount.
