British Curlies: What makes CURLS unique?

Mahisha: Our CURLS formulas make our products unique.  All of our products are formulated with certified organic ingredients, natural oils hand pressed in Bali, and exotic extracts from China and Japan.  Furthermore, unlike most curly hair care brands, CURLS understands that not all curly hair types are same…this isn’t a “one size fits all” curl world.  Because CURLS understands that every curly texture is unique, we offer 5 different stylers (vs. 1 or 2 like most curly brands) to meet the needs of every curly. 

British Curlies: What Curl types can use your line of products?

Mahisha: All curly hair types, actually.  We have 5 different stylers for that purpose….to meet the needs of every curly we face.   

British Curlies: The scents in CURLS are fabulous. Can you please let us know the process you use to create these scents? 

Mahisha: We decided to go with a natural warm vanilla fragrance that is soothing, appealing to both sexes without being overwhelming.  Our customers do love it!

British Curlies: CURLS Gel-les'c is a unqiue holding gel. How did you come up with this product?

Mahisha: Many years of research and development…18 months actually!  We have successfully created a hybrid product – a gel (without drying proteins and alcohols) and serum (without heavy, coating silicones) to define, defrizz  and enhance curls.  It is an awesome product!

British Curlies: Can you share with us your own Curl routine?

Mahisha: Sure…I cleanse 1-2x a week with Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream, followed by Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner.  When I need to deep condition my hair with heat, I use our Curl Ecstasy Hair Tea Deep Conditioner.  I use our Quenched Curls Moisturizer daily…wet or dry.  We call this your “underwear for your hair” no matter what you put on top, you always start with Quenched.  Not only is it a great daily moisturizer (the key to prevent breakage), it is also a GREAT 2nd day curl refresher. For styling, I use either Curl Gel-les’c (when I need more hold) or Curls Milkshake (when I do not need hold).

British Curlies: What was it like for you growing up with curly hair?

Mahisha:  EXTREMELY challenging….back when I was growing up the options were either hair grease or relaxers on the ethnic aisle, or mousse and hairspray on the non ethnic aisle. Neither option worked for me.  Needless to say, there were MANY bad hair days in my past. 

British Curlies: Do you ever wear you curls straight? If so what products do you use? 

Mahisha:  Yes, do straighten my hair 1-2x a week.  When I do, I cleanse and condition as usual, and that is it…no further products.  I like for my straight hair to be product free.
