I was sent this book by Audrey Davis-Sivasothy the author of The Science of Black Hair and I have to say hands down this is the most comprehensive book I have yet to read on caring for natural black hair.
Hair’s composition is mostly protein, specifically a negatively charged protein called Keratin. Hair conditioners work on the hair shaft by the positive surfactants they contain, sticking to the negative protein and making the hair more manageable and less fly-away.
