I’ve just read this article on NC.com:

http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/curlykids/disney-gives-braves-merida-a-makeover?utm_source=nc_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20130523_daily

I’ve heard about this previously, but I was under the impression Disney had backtracked on this, it seems not. I quite liked the original Merida (nothing to do with the colour of her hair honest) she was a good role model for young girls. But it seems to become a Disney Princess she has to be “perfected” to conform to a certain standard. As if young girls don’t feel under enough pressure to be perfect as it is. Anyway, waffling aside, there is also a link to a petition to Disney about this on the NC website, which I have signed.

make me laugh. They’re not designed for us I can see. I think the best bet out there for travel is either the Tresemme naturals 100ml which is a bit more generous, or sachets from the Emporium like the hairveda. Then buying more once you get somewhere. My family were joking that I won’t be able to go on holiday ever, because I’d use up my whole suitcase for conditioner.

I’ve been a curly girl for 5 years and I love it.
My hair is lovely, it feels so nice, it’s curly and is not the ‘triangle of frizz’ on my head anymore!
My skin though is a different story, it’s not happy - especially in this cold weather.
I was wondering if any of you had discovered the equivalent of ‘the curly girl method’ for skin?
Thanks

Is it just me or are there far more “adverts” and posts simply trying to pimp out wares on the site recently ????

My favourites so far have been a post on Camshafts in “All things curl realated” and a post about buying wigs/hair pieces from a certain store made to a curly with hair down to her waist who was looking for advice on curl definition !

I know promoting a business is important but I don’t see why people feel the need to come onto sites like this which are genuinely helpful and enjoyable to some of us if they aren’t going to do so in the spirit of the site ( I have no problem with curly hairdressers offering advice on curls!). Sorry that was a bit of a rant- but don’t do it people !!!

I don’t envy whoever needs to vet these things though. Bet it’s a losing battle

Hello, it is my first post here…since i discoverd the site i cant stop looking! very good site, congratulations.

My hair is ver unpredictible, somes days seems more wavy, other very with small curls…it gets very puffy and unruly on the back of my head (lots of volume, no definition). The top layers seems to have different texture to the longer layers where the curl is more relax. I rarely straigth my hair, so Im not sure what cause this dryness on the top layers.

Please i need your advise!

Dear Fellow Curlies

Today I was in Holland and Barratt and the lady on the till had the most amazing curly hair. I asked her about her routines, and she had never heard of British Curlies. I ended up telling her the website address, and showed her the brown linseeds I was buying to make my hair gel. She was really excited, and said she’d be getting busy doing her curly research. Weeeyyyyy, a convert

I started using henna last year after reading numerous reviews from women singing its praises and saying how their hair is stronger and shinier. I wanted to colour my grey hair naturally and improve my hair’s condition so decided to give it a try. Well, I have now used henna roughly six times, 6 weeks between applications and the only difference to my hair is that my greys are now red. My hair is still in the same weak, constantly breaking condition it was before I ever tried henna. Is it just me?

Not a very cheerful first post to the site. I was diagnoised with cancer last August and I am now on daily drug. It seems to be changing my hair. It went very dry and I panicked and bought lots of new products which promised the earth. Anyway after saturating my hair in sillicone products, which I started to remove today (thanks CURLIES for the advice), my hair is still a state.

I did have resonably bouncy curls but they are changing. Has anyone had a similar experience.

Thanks
