OK I have waited and waited before posting a review of this, mainly because I was sure it couldn’t be the perfect product cos my hair is SO fussy that nothing could last forever… but I have been using painya butter every day for the last 5 weeks now and I can safely say OMG it’s THE most amazing thing I have ever ever used on my hair!!

It has a fluffy creamy consistency which I wasn’t expecting, it isn’t hard like shea butter and you don’t have to let it soften in your hands before applying. It glides straight through my hair almost like a hair cream, and get this: it has lots of SLIP! I didn’t think detangling butters even existed but i can brush thru my hair easily with this one grin So first impressions were great. But I was worried it would be really heavy and greasy like shea, cocoa and avocado butters are on my hair, and that I would end up with stringy curls… not the case with painya, it was absorbed right away and my hair doesn’t feel greasy at all… and it clumped my curls soooo well!!! I was so surprised! I’ll attach a pic of my hair later that shows what I’m talking about!

Right so far then we have a CG butter that detangles AND clumps 3c hair…

Next on my list was the all important moisture factor; the painya ticks every box there too! I use leave-in condish and then apply the butter and it seals all the moisture in making my hair soft and shiny, and it dries the same way too!

Then I was convinced it would leave build up; I’ve been deliberately using it everyday but have had no build-up even after a month!! I’ve used it on curly and straight hair, and because it’s water-free my straight hair loooves it, it looks shiny and healthy but not sticky or greasy. So another thumbs up.

What else… it has no protein so no problems there… the price is fantastic for such a fab product, and it’s availabe in the Emporium grin

I honestly can’t thing of a single negative thing to say about it, it’s a HG for me, am going to buy soooo many tubs on payday next week! Massive thanks to Lela who gave it to me in a swap… you have changed my life lol!!! grin

P.s. here are ingredients:

Ingredients: Pentadesma butyracea (unrefined painya) butter, Citrus vulgaris (watermelon) seed oil, Ricinus communis (castor oil), Schinziophyton rautanenii (manketti) seed oil, Limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, Tocopherol.

HTH!! xxxxx

Well this product obviously works for you, your curls look great! Bouncy and defined. And no other products used. You’ve definitely sold it to me, lol. Sounds too good to be true. Might have to put it on my wish list smile
I’ve never used any butters on my hair, and now I’m definitely tempted to try…

Great review Lillu! I love the Crown Pride Avocado detangler so if it is as good a product as that then I might just be tempted! Just wondering weather it would work on my 3a/b hair - what do you think?

Edit: Forgot to say - your hair looks fab!

Cheers guys!!

CrystalTips- i think if you mix a bit painya with your leave-in it won’t be as heavy. Unlke other butters I’ve tried this one mixes really well with other things, I emulsify them together between my hands and voila! I use the CP Avocado as my leeave-in and they go together great! HTH!!

I ordered a week and a half ago and my order only changed from ‘Pending’ to ‘Processing’ yesterday… who knows when it’ll actually get sent!!! Grrrrrr, I only have enough painya for a day or two :’(
