Hi Triple A,

I’ve never tried the Crown Pride gel so can’t really compare. But, as it’s a medium hold gel, normally you should have more crunch with this than with Miracurl…
Miracurl gives me some (a lot of) crunch when it first dries but that’s easy to scrunch out. SO, the result is soft bouncy curls with a nice volume. Moreover, I use it without any leave-in (I get better result this way), so if you put some curl cream or LI underneath, you probably won’t have a lot of crunch. Then, you can of course use a creamier product on top to scrunch out the crunch and moisturize your curls at the same type.

But what’s nice with the Miracurl is that is’t an “all hair type” product as it’s light but very moisturizing at the same time. I’ve seen some type 2, 3 or 4’s curlies that use it with great results.

No, I don’t think so.
You can get it at Sista-Curl Collection: http://www.sistas-curlcollection.com, it’s webshop based in Netherlands.
I’m sure you’ll love it Mizzdee smile

hi efuru, smile

that’s very kind of you, thanks. it would be nice to try the gel.
i thought that i read in your diary, that you were using the crown pride control gel as part of your summer routine and that you were getting good results? or maybe i misread. i think i need to try both lines so i can compare the effects. which leave in would you recommend with the miracurl? also how much is it?

Efuru - 14 June 2010 01:05 PM

Triple A, I love Crown Pride products. Are you referring to the Control gel? If so, I can’t really say ‘cause I’m still misusing the gel (the directions don’t work for me) and I haven’t tried the silkening mist yet. I do think that the Miracurl is really good for 4a/3c hair (definition and ‘hang’), though I would suggest using a leave-in underneath and scrunching out the crunch with your butter if need be. I could probably send you a sample of the gel if you’d like?

hi kadogo26,

how is your hair looking and responding now to the miracurl?

kadogo26 - 02 May 2010 12:04 PM

HI again,
Today sunday is the third day of my mira curl. Yesterday(day 2) I decided to revive the curls with the super butter cream.( The cream is like a very thick creamy lotion). I did not spray my hair with water at all. The results were great. The only problem is that i felt that my hair was slightly greasy ( i dont like that). I was probably too heavy handed with the butter. So today ( Day 3) i decided to use water only. The results were very good and the greasy feeling disappeared . I dont know how long i can have my hair with this application but i am sure that i will have it to work tomorrow. So far i am happy.

zenalla, efuru/kadogo26, smile

im tempted to try the DM jelli and moist curls now because of you guys lol!  i was going to try the crown pride gel/ silkening mist first.

i know everyone’s hair is different but would you say the CP or Mira is better for 4a/3c hair? i really need to avoid crunch as much as possible but i want a product that will allow me to use a butter on top for moisture, i cant stand dry curls…  shut eye

Hi,
I got 5 great days with the mira curl curling jelly application. So yesterday after work i decided to apply the Jelly without the leave in conditioner. The results were good but not as good as with the conditioner. I did not get a good slip of the hair and it dried crunchy. It softened after i put the butter. Today i refreshed it with just water and it was ok but slightly hard to the touch.

Hi tripleA, Efuru is right. I have never used CP products but as far as DM goes, u can use a butter on top of the gel and the results stay great but also i advice on a leave in under. With that u will get great results.

I like this Gelly.  It does come close to KCCC.  BUT….  it has little purple bits in it?  It kinda looks a little like Jam hmmm

Is this just my bottle or have yours got bits in it???  I have dark brown hair and I can see the bits once its dried, i dont know if any of you blonde or light brown hair girls would be able to get away with this gel on your hair.

Dissapointed :-(  im thinking of putting it through a tea strainer lol

Natalieee, unfortunately you are not the 1st person I have read of complaining of the purple bits. Such a shame though. I wanted to try this, but I can’t deal with purple bits or any kind of bit in my hair! That would be a pain for me to wash out!
