I recently sampled 2 styling gels, and a hair moisturiser (like a creme) from Lush.  I like that you can sample their stuff for free grin

Goth Juice—purple, medium hold gel.  I personally wasn’t keen on the scent, but some might like it.

The Big Tease—strong/firm hold gel.  You only need to use a bit of this (about 10p sized amount for my nearly bra-strap length hair) and it defines curls very well.  If you try using this in dry hair, you’ll get flaking.  Hold was a little bit crunchy, but can SOTC, and had great 2nd day hair, too! Have bought a full-sized pot of this.

R&B (aka Revive & Balance) hair moisturiser - smells gorgeous, is a good finishing cream, and good for SOTC. Take care not to use too much, as it could take a little longer to CO-wash out.  Have also gone ahead and purchased this.

Hope this is useful!

I was wondering about the R&B product but I was under the impression it was a DT from their website as it comes under treatments, well if it is and you are liking it for a smoothing cream and SOTC thats a big bonus!

It says it contains Candelilla Wax so im assuming this is why it would be harder to co wash out.

I will have to try some of this when I am next near a Lush,I haven’t tried any of their hair products before.

I have the R&B Moisturiser, and I really like it. They told me it’s for curly hair and should be used on dry hair, but I think now I’ll give it a go on wet, just to see.  There’s an article in the magazine I got free with it. It’s a shame the tub is so small though.

I also got “The Big Tease”, but it doesn’t do much for my hair type, so I’ll use that as a moisturiser after I finish the R&B pot, but I do really like it. I actually went in to look at their shampoo bars, but they all contained sulfates I think.

Yes, you’re right CC - all contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate.

For what it’s worth I too tried the Lush Gels back in the day when I was searching Hi and Lo for products and I found all the gels extremely drying. I ordered mine online and it was delivered very well packaged and I was soooo excited. I think it came in popcorn cheese

So I had bought all the gels all made my hair feel like straw. I also went for the Coconut Shampoo for curly hair. That was a disaster it made my hair dry plus for days after I had huge white bits in my hair.  mad

I was not happy at all. The only thing I remember loving was this conditioner

http://www.lush.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=435&category_id=514&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=80

But if I compare that to say the Crown Pride Avocado Conditioner CP wins hands down. I hope that helps just my experience and of course we all know what does not work for one person may be some else’s HG smile

Ooooh just checked out the ingreds for RnB:

Oat Milk (Avena sativa), Glycerine, Organic Avocado Butter (Persea gratissima), Fair for Life Olive Oil, Glyceryl Stearate & PEG 100 Stearate, Perfume, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Organic Cold Pressed Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis), Bay Oil (Pimenta racemosa), Orange Blossom Absolute (Citrus aurantium amara), Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum), Cupuacu Butter (Theobroma grandiflorum), Candelilla Wax (Euphorbia cerifera), Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, *Benzyl Salicylate, *Eugenol, *Geraniol, *Isoeugenol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Farnesol, *Limonene, *Linalool

I might try it… although it has the dreaded jojoba oil :’( but if the samples are free then I will probably give it a go anyway. 1 lil question: is there protein in oat milk?

Thanks Crystaltips and Lillu. It seems ok though I never get good results with this brand before. However, the glycerin in second position makes me wonder cause my hair is not a huge fan of it.

Hi girls so far from my digging, from Lush I with my hair type can use Snake oil, the hair doctor, R and B hair moisturiser and the hair gels…..Hair gels….I’m umming and ahhing about because of whether those acrylates/polymers wash out properly or not. Not sure if they do. Snake oil looks like my go to solid conditioner for carry on luggage situations! Thinking about using the Big Tease as I have curl definition and hold issues..The sulphates containing products are a no go for my dry thirsty hair.

Lush’s R&B moisturizer was good for moisturizing my curly hair, but unfortunately my curls were left looking a bit frizzier and less defined than usual. Also, the wax ingredient does make it difficult to low-poo out as well. I was given a sample from Lush, and I fell in love with the smell grin, but it wasn’t versatile enough to style my curls. So, I did try mixing it with Giovanni’s Direct Leave-in Conditioner, and sadly the result was greasy looking curls :-(.
