Hi,

I thought this would be the best place for this post as this conditioner is only available online - never seen it on the high street.

I have predominantly 4a with a 3b/3c nape (I’m natural).  I’ve always preferred the Jojoba & Aloe desert Herb conditioner to the mighty Honeysuckle Rose but I have to now rave about the Island Natural conditioner - its AMAZING!!!!!

I went CG less than a year ago and have very recently begun to make my own leave in moisturiser.  I made up a batch of twist butter using

1 cup x Island Naturals conditioner
1/4 cup x distilled water
1 tbsp (ish maybe a tad more)  JBCO

all i can say is AMAZING!!!!!!  my hair STILL feels moisturised 4 days later?!!!  but not greasy at all and smooth and silky ( seriously this is not normal behaviour for my hair at all).

I’ve ordered some more the stuff and plan to make this my regular leave in .

Just wanted to share

hi MoodyMaam,

just to clarify, do you use this mixture as a leave in conditioner or do you just cowash or condition with it?

TripleA - i use it as a leave-in.  I actually used it without conditioning my hair - I shampooed and then twisted after applying the mix to each section.  That’s why I’m so amazed with the results - cant imagine how well it would have turned out if I’d DC’d.

I´ve just tried it as a leave-in and my hair loves it! Moisture and not the greasy feeling I had with AOHR (which I prefer as a DT). I´m currently using GPB and not decided which one I prefer ! I think I’ll altern between them.

No problem Moodmaam.

This product is look appealing to me. . . . . . . . . . . . but quite a few are at the moment :S

Can I ask if anyone has tried any Kinky Curly products or any products from the CURLY line? Im interested in these also have read some reviews and it has been quite positive, but Im not sure if these will be suitable for my hair type. I know my hair can take to products differently to others, but still curious to what others thought.

Ok so I finally gave in and ordered the shampoo and conditioner( buy one get one free on here)
and I’m kinda mixed about it.
the shampoo, I’m not really feeling, it made my hair feel slightly matted and not really clean, kind of coated.

the conditioner feels really good and makes up for the bad feeling the shampoo gave… my only issue is the smell. I can’t decide if I like it, I guess I was expecting some kind of coconut/ spicy scent but to me it smells like something medicated which I’m not too fond on but I do like the results.
I don’t know if I’ll buy it again though

It funny how the Aubrey Organics stuff has a weird smell!  You may get used to it tho - I didn’t like the smell of the GPB co to start with but now I love it (in fact I sometimes have a sniff of the bottle even when I’m not going to use it!  LOL )

Just done a henna gloss with it and not satisfied with the result : when I rinced out, hair felt rough and not manageable. It´s better after cowash, leave-in and curl cream. By the way, Moodymaam, what is JBCO?

I was wondering about JBCO too!  Not on the acronym list on here that I printed out, unless it’s been added very recently….  smile  Gosh, it’s hard keeping up with all the acronyms!
