Ingredients:

AQUA/WATER, POLYESTER-5, GLYCERIN, NIACINAMIDE, PHENOXYETHANOL, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, PEG-192 APRICOT KERNEL GYLCERIDES, PEG-70 MANGO GLYCERIDES, TRIETHANOLAMINE, LIMONENE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, LINALOOL, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, ACRYLATES/STEARETH-20 METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, PYRUS MALUS EXTRACT/APPLE FRUIT EXTRACT, SORBITOL, DIODIUM EDTA, CITRAL, CITRUS MEDICA LIMONUM EXTRACT/LEMON FRUIT EXTRACT, OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA EXTRACT/OPUNTIA FICUS-INDICA FLOWER EXTRACT, AMYL CINNAMAL, PARFUM/FRAGRANCE.

I’ve been using this a gel for a litle while now and can safely say it definitely has a place on my summer list.

On the tube it claims to have ‘extreme resistance’ to humidity, heat and wind. I haven’t really tried it any of these conditions yet (hasn’t been too hot recently) so can’t comment on if it does indeed live up to these claims.

It does have excellent hold though, and like the GF 24 Hour Endurance gives great shine. It’s also less gunkier than the GF 24HE so somewhat easier to distribute. That said however, it is easy to use too much and I’m still struggling a little with the quantities. I’m sure that using a little would give me the hold I need, but use too much and there will be A LOT of crunch. Using too much may also leave your hair a little heavy/oily (that’s what happened to me this morning after using it yesterday) so quantity is key. If I use the right amount though it will always give me second/third day hair.

Also, again like the GF 24HE it is quite an oily product (like most of the GF line I think) so can be somewhat moisturising. As it is quite heavy, it’s probably best to use it over a lighter leave in/curl creme. I’ve been using it over pink boots curl creme and works like a charm smile I did once use it over some Curl Junkie products (Curl Assurance Leave In and the Aloe Fix Gel) and that did not turn out too well - possibly too much glycerin.

It’s a shame that it is a such summer/humidity product though as it would be lovely to have a hard hold gel which would be suitable to use in the colder and dryer months. But I may try using heavier cremes/butters instead this year.

So, if you are a fan of the GF 24HE, I’d heartily recommend giving this a try if the GF24HE isn’t giving the right amount hold on these warmer days. There are also some pics in my fotki where I’ve used this gel if you wish to take a look.

Oh just to add, I haven’t and won’t replace this with the GF 24HE, that is an all weather and perfect gel for me smile

Thanks!

I bought it and am having the same problem with quantity! I tried using quite a lot, and it was really crunchy, used a smaller amount and didn’t really hold very well…really confusing!

I really love the smell as well! smile

I had the same results with it KhizzReynzz. Have you tried the 24HR Endurance gel they do instead? I find that gives the hold without the crunch. I love it!

Well I quite like it a bit crunchy, but not too much!

I might try that one next though!
