I was really nervous about going natural as I’d had some negative comments in the past, including from family. In some cases I don’t think people necessarily meant to hurt my feelings, like when my school friends used to see my hair as some kind of comical prop for example. “Hey it’s may actual hair that grows out of my head”. But now if I do get any comments they tend to be a lot more positive and it is a massive confidence boost. I’ve had a couple of negative things said to me, but they seem to be related to more prejudicial issues, and those people would have said something nasty to me no matter what my hair looked like!

The best thing is to get out their with your natural hair and just remember that as long as you’re happy with it no-one else’s opinion really matters! wink
