I have a very sensitive nose for smells, as many of you will have heard me say elsewhere, and I am also suffering a lot from nausea atm which just makes it worse - the smells make me feel sick as well as irritate my nose.  I just can’t use my current deo spray any more.

I know there are lots of unperfumed deo sprays around, but I wondered if people could post any recommendations of very effective deodorant sprays which are unperfumed and really don’t smell!  Some things are called unperfumed but still do smell quite a bit.

I don’t want an *anti-perspirant* deodorant - only a deodorant, and must be a spray.  Many thanks in advance for any suggestions…..

Went CG June 2010, but stopped being CG 10 months after started; co-washing does not suit my hair and left it lank.  In August 2012 had bob cut and was taught to twirl hair into ringlets.  Using lots of products in rotation, mostly CG but not strictly.  I like natural products, especially those with subtle smells rather than strong perfumes.

Today I found what I wanted.  Boots had nothing in that category, but I found Salt of the Earth spray and solid stick in Holland and Barrett.

Bionsen sell a mineral spray. You buy the spray bottle containing the little mineral rocks, and add water. You can refill it more than the 5 times they suggest. I find it very good, especially for my exceptionally sweaty feet. I’d recommend this 100%.

Signature

Wash: Pure Nuff Stuff hair cleanser or Black soap
Rinse out: Faith in Nature Jojoba
Leave-in: If I use one, it’s AOHR
Gel: Home-made flax/aloe/jojoba mix
Scrunchy crunchy: Anita Grant cafe latte
Odds & ends: ACV & honey
I love Flexi-8’s & anything by Anita Grant, Akamuti or Pure Nuff Stuff

I’ve used the Salt of the Earth “stick” for years. It doesn’t stop sweat patches cos it’s only a deodorant, but for every day use it’s fine, doesn’t smell at all and is completely natural. If I am staying somewhere overnight, or going to the gym I usually take a Biosen spray as the stick needs moist skin to work.

Trying the CG thing… not 100% yet though!

Hi, I know you answered your own question, but I have an alternative.

I spent many years looking for a natural deodorant that actually works because of all the scare stories about normal deodorants.  I’d kind of decided that all the natural ones were rubbish and that I’d have to cope with washing a lot more frequently, but then I discovered Bicarbonate of soda - apparently it’s a Japanese beauty trick that the West doesn’t know about, but it works amazingly well as a deodorant.

It is odourless, cheap, natural and works better than anything else natural I’ve ever tried, and I’ve pretty much tried them all (try me!)

To put it on I dampen my fingers, stick them in the pot and then rub under my arms, but you could dissolve and put in a spray bottle - haven’t tried this.

Bicarb is my saviour!

It also works for the males I know who are now sweet smelling wink

Signature

3A with ringlets at the bottom
Straightens over time to be a big loose wave.
Fine/Medium Fine, Normal Porosity, Quite elastic???

100% natural or homemade
Bicarb, ACV, Badger Balm as a leave-in/wax
Sometimes Morocco Method Diamond Crystal Mist
Getting to grips with FSG, haven’t tried protein yet!

I totally agree with ActsofBeauty. I so recommend the sodium bicarb, not bicarbonate of soda, sold at boots. No problem with the odour in deodorants but their effectiveness untill I discovered the sodium bicarb. I use the same method as ActsofBeauty as well as putting it in the palm of my hands and adding one drop of tea tree or lavender eo and then drops of water to make a paste and apply to underarms - PERFECT!

Hi tocoloco - Sodium Bircarbonate and Bicarbonate of Soda are the same thing (the Americans call it Baking Soda).

I’ve been using Tom’s of Maine for years now - no irritation (I thought the black patches under my arms were caused by PCOS - turns out it was a reaction to my deoderant!), no nothing.  Just smells of natural/organic stuff - you don’t noticed it after about 30 seconds post-application unless you, y’know, stick your head in your armpits.  It really does stop me from stinking. grin  I dunno if they do a spray - I’ve only ever seen the sticks and rollers.  They do an unscented version and a few scented ones as well (again, not particularly strong).
