i have wavy hair that is wavy around my face, straight at the front and curly underneath. Its really weird and annoying because it just looks like a poof ball all the time and i’m getting fed up with straightening it all the time or just putting it up. Also one side of my hair is wavier than the other. Is there any way to get my hair to be either, curly or wavy all over or any way to just make it look nicer? thanks in advance smile

Hi wavylocks!
If you straighten your hair a lot, and it is curly underneath but wavy towards the ends, it may be simply be heat damage!
your roots (new growth) may actually be your “true” texture = curly.
This is just a thought. if that’s the problem, then you need to do some regular protein treatments followed by moisturising ones (look for the thread “protein and type 4”, you’ll get some good info there and product recommendation).
If your ends are still wavy/straight after a few weeks, then you’ll just need to cut them off and continue to care well for your curly new growth.
You sort of have to stay away from the flat iron though smile

If you look here:

this is a post that Keisha did a couple of weeks ago, it’s a simple routine to follow, very effective.

You may not need step 4 depending on how “oily/greasy” your hair gets, but just a little oil/butter might do your hair some good.

There are some lovely products you can use too to accentuate your curls and try to make them a bit uniform. I would recommend the Curl Junkie Line to you:
- Smoothing lotion as your leave-in
- Curls in a bottle or Curl Queen for your curl definition/styling

You should also get some Deep Conditioners to use once a week, and a nice hair butter or cream if your hair often feels a bit dry (such as Komaza Care Califia moisturising cream, Curl Harmony butter, Darcy’s Botanicals butters/creams, etc ).

Good luck! and happy new year! smile

you are welcome, also, check out Taren916 on youtube if you can, she is doing some treatments to try to revert some heat damage. Her last 3 videos or so are all about that.
Good luck with the cut, let us know how things progress! smile
