No more yellow! (well, until the summer anyway!)

Taken 7 days ago before my cut last Sunday (boy, did it need it - the curls have now perked up!). Much prefer the ‘ashy’ tones I now have in this pic - could never get this ashy with highlights as they always defaulted to ‘yellow’.

Your hair looks beautiful! It’s so full - looking!

Thanks Adjoa! It’s pretty big at the moment - and messy! Have decided to grow it for a bit - but I could change my mind any day now!

I have a mix of fine and coarse, fairly porous 2b-3a hair. Curly from birth with cherub tendencies. I’ve spent too much time trying to make my hair something it isn’t ie sleek!

Current routine is lo poo or co wash, rinse out con and stylers, with occasional DT. Favourites include KCKT and Keracare LIs, argan and jojoba oils, Faith In Nature Seaweed conditioner, Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee, AG Re:coil Curl Activator, CJCCCCL.

I’ve caved and booked an appointment with Ben for next week! It has been almost 4 months since my last cut and the only shape going on is that ‘triangular’ one we all know and love to hate! I was really trying to avoid a cut for at least 2 more months but I have no layers to speak of and I NEED them - lol! It’s annoying as I have really enjoyed clipping it back the last month or so. I may just have the layers trimmed yet - I’ll decide on the day!

I’ve been playing around with a few products I’ve not tried before and will post up my thoughts in the product review forum once I’ve formulated an opinion.

Trying out:

Conditioners (for cowashing)
Urtekram conditioners (they contain cocobetaine)
Timotei Pure (contains Disodium EDTA for chelation)
Butterbur and Sage conditioners (Basic conditioners with simple ingredients and cheap)
Morrisons Fruits conditioner (contains Tetrasodium EDTA for chelation)

Gels (looking to find a comparable hard hold gel to BRHG)
Giovanni LA Styling Gel
L’Oreal Studio Line Mineral Control Invisi’Gel
