my hair is 3a/b and quite fine, this is the first winter ive had natural hair in about 10 years or so and my hair is breaking a bit at the ends. im using a deep conditioner now, but i dont think shampoo is doing much good for my hair.
i tried to co-wash before, and my hair ended up feeling really gross and just… stringy and unclean and horrible. i dont use products with parabens/sulfates/silicones in them so i dont think it was because the conditioner couldnt clean the leave in conditioner i use from my hair, im not sure.
ive seen that darcys botanicals do a cleansing conditioner, have many of you used it and would this be the best bet for someone who wants to get the co-wash thing to work for them?

I’ve not tried Darcy’s cleansing condish but interested to hear what others think of it. I use Curl Junkie Daily Fix - which is also a cleansing conditioner and really like it for removing any hard water build up. I only use it around once a week and use Tresemme Naturals condishes in between.

Have used this cleansing condish a few times now and, I have to say, I’m not loving it!

First, it is way too thick! Too thick to get out of the bottle, without removing the lid; too thick to distribute and get to scalp area; too thick to mix with water effectively (in a bottle). You need to add plently of water to it as you distribute - which is fine as you also need to do this with CJDF. However, unlike CJDF - which gets thicker and slightly ‘foamy’ as you add water - the Darcy’s kinda dilutes and disappears somewhat so then you need to add more of the product and then more water and so on and on! No rich feel in my hair either - which I get with CJDF. Upon rinsing, hair doesn’t feel as moisturised as it does when I use any of my other cowashes or CJDF - infact, I’d say it feels a little ‘coated’ - not in a ‘silky/conditioner’ coated way but maybe very slightly ‘waxy’.

I know that CJDF is in a class of its own (it’s a ‘true’ cleanser anyway as it contains coco-betaine - whereas the Darcy’s doesn’t) but if I was comparing Darcy’s Cleansing Conditioner to the Abeni Dream Cleanser - the Abeni wins hands down for me!

I plan to use the sample of this that I have tonight - after reading your review CT I put the sample on its cap so the stuff would slide down to the cap - it still hasn’t! I think I may have to add some water to it to get it out the bottle lol It is certainly thick!

Not too keen on this at all.  I found also that it just sort of disappeared and didn’t seem to do anything.  Like CT the getting it out of the bottle was a task in itself!

I put a bottle >( and not too impressed either. I had that waxy feeling as well.

Mind you CJDF isn’t working for me right now either.

I give up.

Having ordered this on a whim after reading the reviews here I was very excited (less excited about the over priced delivery charge which is almost half the price of the product). I then saw other reviews in the BC forum which were not so promising so I emailed them described my hair which is a mix of curls, waves and some straight bit. My response was this will be great for my coils?
Product arrived and I used today. Felt odd just using one product in the shower and after, however so far I am truely amazed! It really is very nice. No tangles underneath, no fluffy frizzy bits (well a little on the crown) and very soft. Using in the shower it felt odd as it is cream like but I splashed a little water on my hair whilst massaging in and it lather a little, rinsed beautifully. So far happy days!
