Well my birthday was on Friday!  cheese First birthday in years where I worked all day! Oh well all for the greater good smile

My hair is in need of care and attention seriously dry and I need to trim my ends. The colour is growing out and I am not happy with the choice I made to add such a light colour I can tell the peroxide has affected my curl pattern and increased how dry my hair feels so that will be the LAST time I use hair colours with peroxide. Naughty as I should have known better!!

Moving on I will be doing a serious deep treatment and my go to HERO product is Curl Junkie Curl Rehab I will leave that on for at least 1 hour today. Then I will use my Crown Pride Avocado Detangler Conditioner as well. For styling it will be my Kinky-Curly Knot Today and Curling Custard!

Pics will be posted later today…...in the meantime I am thinking of what colour to use next it will need to be a dark brown question

Belated happy birthday for friday!  Sorry you had to work all day, I hope you had some time to yourself at least!

I need to re-colour as well, and I was thinking of something a little bit special now that its winter.  I ususlly do this to try and brighten myself up as I do tend to suffer a bit from winter blues.  Last year I went deep purple, the colour was great but I should have gone for a less permanent option!  It was a ‘semi-permanent’ from boots but my colourist said that anything where you have to mix two bottles together is effectively more permanent than anything else.  So I might dye dark brown as per usual and then put a temporary bright red over the top.  This should give a really rich burgundy colour, fading to my normal dark brown in a few weeks.  Then I can top it up with something else!

Keep us posted on the colour, I find colour so exciting and I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a bit of an addict   tongue laugh

Hi TallGirl thanks smile I like your ideas on hair colour. I am leaning more towards a really rich chocolate brown. I will see how I get on but will make sure it is temporay and as gentle a formulation that I can find! Cheers

MY TWIST OUT

Washed and Conditioned my hair then applied used leave-in from Darcy’s Botanicals then applied Curl Junkie Coffee Cocoa Creme.

I did about 15 twists which worked great! The combo of both products provided enough hold so I did not have to band the ends which made it quick and easy. Hair was damp when I went to bed wrapped hair in a silk scarf.

Here are the results the following morning. Not bad for a first try smile

Looks good Keisha Jo.  Do you have to do anything in the morning - do you leave it or untwist it?

Hi Mich the images are of my hair right after I took the twists out. Then I followed Curly Nikki’s advice in her article
http://www.britishcurlies.co.uk/articles/article/twist_placement_for_a_chunky_twist_and_curl/
and gently fluffed at the roots for lift and to hide the sectioning. It looked nice and was and easy way to style. During the winter months so I will be doing more Twist Outs and trying different product combinations to see the different effects they bring cheese

Yes it looks great!  Would you get next day hair from it or will you twist again at night? - heck even if you have to twist again and not wash that is a good saving!

Hi Mich that is a great question. Second hair for me was easily achieved and no I did’nt retwist just wrapped my hair in my silk scarf and fluffed the next day and added some Gloss Pomade cheese

Weekend Hair!

Okay my hair is screamming for attention!!!

This is what I am going to do about it.

Today I will wash my hair with Miss Jessies Super Slip can’t wait I love this shampoo!!!
I will then of course have a shower at the same time. Then pop out and do a DEEP TREATMENT!!
Cannot wait for that breathless with anticiapation cause my curls need it!
I will use Miss Jessies Rapid Recovery and leave for at least 45 mins. I will add heat by sitting under my hooded dryer.

Back into the shower will rinse then apply my Kinky-Curly Knot Today and some Coconot Oil as tomorrow I am planning on colouring my hair and am going to try the Coconut Oil method as discussed in the Curl Forum by CrystalTips and CurlyHairMich!!!

Will keep you posted. cheese

UPDATE

Now have my hair bathed in Coconut Oil! I know I always say this but when you have thick curly hair you must always take the time to section your hair when applying products or treatments. Getting below the canopy is ultra important!
So that is what I did I sectioned into at least 10 sections to ensure an even coating of the coconut oil on my damp hair. From root to tip.. My hair is now up in two bunches secured by sectioning clips and I am going to add some Vatika Oil as well. Just waiting for it to soften. Have left it in a bowl of hot water wink

What Happened Next

Well I did’nt wait till the following day to colour my hair. After a couple of hours with the coconut oil in my hair I added the colour. Used a Semi called Chocolate Ice! Hair colour came out rich and dark with some highlights. Not bad.

Yesterday went back to my holy grail and did Kinky-Curly full treatment. Come Clean Shampoo. Then as I have the colour in my hair used my Crown Pride Avocado Detangler to condition and add extra moisture rinsed then applied my Knot Today. I used section clips and went through each section applied the Curling Custard. I was watching a YouTube video of someone applying the KCCC and they used a small detangling brush over each section. I had used a wide tooth comb to detangle my hair while the Avocado detangler was in so I experimented and used a Rat Tail comb with the very narrow teeth to comb each section before coating with the custard. The tension this created gave me the best most even curl definition EVER! I will be doing this always now.

See pics as to why I love Kinky-Curly!

First pic Wet and Second Pic Dry.
