Hey KJ Your hair is lovely…Now my hair is permanently curly( lol no it’s not a curly perm) when ever I get it straightened every 6 month by a professional I can’t wait to wash and deep condition it to see my curls back!! Lol! My straighteners are in storage along with the blow dryer I can’t get to them and I haven’t used them since March this year! Congrats on your length. I’ve never had really long hair due to abuse by mum and me and hairdressers and I do have the propensity for enjoying the short cuts! Particularly when I lived in a hot country. But having waited for over 4 hours to wait for Aphogee to dry into my 4.5 inches of hair (don’t have a free standing hood dryer see diary) I’m thinking maybe I just want healthy hair and not long hair. Mines pretty dense so if it was long it would be double the trouble. I think I’ll concentrate on care and stick to above my shoulders if i get that far. How do you cope with the length?

Hi MarleyHill

Thank you for stopping by smile

My hair is below bs now and for me it is a lot easier than when it was shorter. Washing routine is straight forward.

I section my hair while dry in two parts and apply a rinse out conditioner. Step in shower wet then apply shampoo to the tips of my fingers and massage my scalp. Rinse thoroughly then apply more conditioner to each section, twist each section up for 5 minutes to let the conditioner work ( I use Kinky-Curly Knot Today) take each section down and detangle with my BC denman. Leave the KCKT in then style however I want smile

I have varying routines but this works well smile

Dear Diary

Forgive the delay in posting but I have been an extremely busy bee!

My hair has suffered because of this but with the arrival of Shea Moisture I simply had to take the time to indulge cheese

My hair was one big mess of dry tangles so first up. The Raw Masque. No fancy pancy nothing just grabbed sections of hair and slathered on as best as I could like a warrior cutting through the dense jungle LOL

Then put 2 plastic shower caps on wrapped with my Curlease towel for extra warmth then took a long nap. Woke up about 2 hours later unwrapped and the difference in texture and softness was fabulous! Jumped in the shower and rinsed then washed with the Raw Shampoo and then conditioned and detangled with the Raw Conditioner. Fantastic! Easy peasey!

Rinsed then squeezed excess water then twisted my hair with a little Hibiscus and Coconut Curl & Style Milk and smoothed in some Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Cream. I noticed right away that these work best for twists on damp hair not wet hair.

Next morning undid and was rewarded with beautifully defined twists that looked plump and soft. Untwisted and it was lovely. Very pleased with Shea Moisture!

Winning combination for me.

Last night washed and conditioned with the Raw Shampoo and Conditioner. Squeezed excess water out then applied Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Cream then smoothed on top about 5 pumps of the Miracurl Curling Gelly from Donna Marie. Got great curls with lovely hold and shiny. Second Hair today looks lovely too!  cheese

Still enjoying playing with my Shea Moisture products. Yesterday washed and conditioned with the Raw Shampoo and Conditioner. Squeezed excess water out then applied the Hibiscus & Coconut Curl & Style Milk then shingled the Smoothie on top. Gorgeous combination! Shrinkage was not too much which was amazing as no styling gel was used.

2nd day hair still looks good. Very full with lot’s of volume. Hair feels soft and curls defined with minimal frizz thanks to sleeping with my satin cap wink

Your hair is so long now! It looks gorgeous!

I used that Shea Moisture shampoo this morning - am waiting for it to dry to see what the results are. But did it make your hair feel quite dry/slightly tangly in the shower?

It may be that it’s too rich for my hair. I do sometimes have problems with products that have a lot of shea butter or oils in.

Hi Kat thank you! The Raw Shea Shampoo works great for me very moisturising and rinses clean. Maybe the Coconut and Hibiscus would work better for you? I have not tried it yet but will be the next one I try smile

Hi Keisha!
Your hair is looking lovely.
I have a quick question, hope you don’t mind.
Did you wet your hair before applying the mask?
I normally do my DC and PT after I shampoo, but that means that I have to jump back in the shower to rinse it out. Your way would mean only one shower. A lot simpler and more ecological, because I would use less water.
And do you think I could do a PT this way as well?
Sorry for all the questions cheese

Happy to answer your questions and thank you for the kind compliment smile

On this occasion no I did not wet my hair was physically too tired to go through all that. Yes I have also done PT treatments this way. I use the GPB from Aubrey Organics. For really good results it is best to do a proper cleanse before but this will work too for days when you just can’t. HTH grin

Dear Diary

Been very busy taking care of my baby girl smile
Took sometime today to finally get some conditioner on my hair which has been suffering with lack of moisture. I will leave my Raw Shea Moisture Masque on for most of the day and rinse and style when I get the opportunity to smile
