Just being nosy really…and looking for magic tips I guess!  Which products do you use and what’s your normal routine?  How do you style your hair? smile

I’m fairly sure that my hair is mostly 2c, with a hint of 3a.  Haven’t really worked out the rest of the stuff yet, but it’s fine-ish (but lots of it!) with random coarse strands, and I think it’s medium porosity, doesn’t seem to be extremes.  I haven’t started CGing properly yet, but am going to start with Tresemme Naturals and Original Source (not sure what order!) and have got some of the Boots pink creme too.  I guess after a few days/weeks of that the real experimenting starts!

I’ve also had my hair trimmed for the first time in nearly a year, thought that would be a good start - I had the confidence to tell the hairdresser to stay away from the thinning scissors too, aaarghh the fuzz that those things have created over the years!  It was a new hairdresser and I like the way she’s cut my hair, although she admitted that she doesn’t know much about curly hair she seemed to treat it quite respectfully.

Hello!

Why do you not check out my diary, i’ve only just started CG amount a month ago but noticed a big change.  You can see from my signature what products I am trying out, but obviously weather can effect products.

To start the CG you can get a travel size of Aussie Moisture shampoo to clear your hair to start CG.  I would suggest that you low poo, I use the Body Shop range (see signature).  I wash my hair every other day as it can get greasy at the roots alot.  I tend to low poo every other wash, and the other ones at the moment I just use CJDF as a co wash and then condition.

I am varying styling products, conditioners etc to find the right products for me but so far so good.  I discovered even though low porosity, my hair likes protein!  So trying this out at the moment with some DTs (although laid off these abit as i over conditioned a couple of weeks ago!!)

You can see my piccies too.

Your hair sounds quite similar to mine i must say!

I am at work at the moment, so when I get home I can concentrate and give you a bit more of a helping hand! smile

Oooh, thanks for that - just read your diary and it’s fascinating!  What a huge range of products you’ve tried.

One question - why do you suggest the Aussie shampoo to clear your hair?  Surely any sulfate shampoo will clear it, as long as it has no ‘cones?  Puzzled!

Yes, any shampoo with sulphates but cone free will work fine. The Aussie one is mentioned as it’s easily found and can buy in a travel size to save the pennies!

Ahh, thanks.  Planning to use baby shampoo - I’m not kidding myself that it’s gentle or anything, it’s just the least complicated shampoo that we already have in the house!

I reckon I’ve got a couple more washes in my last bottles of frizz ease shampoo and conditioner (can’t afford to waste it!) , so once that’s gone I’m going CG smile

Sorry, just thought of some more questions!  When you do a leave in conditioner, do you just literally put a bit on your hair and not rinse it out?  Every wash or just some?

And what do you do for styling on days when you don’t actually ‘wash’ your hair? Wet in the shower and restyle? Don’t get it wet at all and style? Something else?

Sorry for all the newbie questions!

On styling days I use homemade burdock root and agave nectar spritz, alot of others use lavendar spritz.  I tend to put my hair up on these days as its a bit of a mess sometimes!!

Leave in conditioner I do not use every time, but when I do, i put a bit over the ends, then quickly put my head under the water (very quickly) just to evenly distribute.
