Decided to have a minimal product day today.  So all I’ve done is water wash then a rinse out co.  Put a tiny bit of co on the ends of my hair as a leave in then my gel.  So will see how this turns out.  I would really like to use just one styling product everyday.  However there are so many great hair things to try that the temptation is always there!  Will update later on how hair is - hopefully at lunch time at work provided it’s not another rushed off my feet day.  My boss is on holiday till Monday so that will ease things but a girl from another branch is on holiday also this week so I’m doing her dictations - never fails, you think you have an easy week coming up and it all goes pear shaped.

Products
Rinse out MC
Gel FSG (SSH)

12.30
Well I really like my hair today!  I don’t feel this way very often I can tell you.  The big diff I notice from using the recoil yesterday is that I don’t have side volume today.  The recoil seems to increase my volume - not in a horrible way but makes my hair look thicker mainly at the sides.  But I do prefer it the way it is today.  I didn’t really notice that until I noticed the difference today.  That is what is good about keeping a diary you can remember how your hair is when you use something.  My curls are really defined - is this ever a fluke or what!  When I get home I’ll take a pic of my favourite curl to remind myself of this day!

Curl: 9
Frizz: better than bearable

I am going to do exactly the same tomorrow as I did today just to see if I get the same results.

Attached pic of favourite curl!

Tried to do exactly the same as yesterday - one slight difference tho was used the root touch up this am as I was up early.  Parting area looks so much better (and I put the correct stuff in it this time!) so am hoping that my hair will be as it was yesterday, but I suppose the thing with curly hair is that it’s unpredictable!  I did a co wash to make sure all residue of the colour was gone then did a rinse out.  I’m still enjoying scrunching side to side (I do a head down scrunch first then side to side in front of mirror so I can sort parting and then add gel and more side to side scrunching).  It is a bit messy in that you have dripping hair.  Also used a little co as a leave in (5p size) on ends and canopy.  Just out of my plop and going to diffuse a bit.  Will update later.

Products: rinse out MC
styling: FSG (SSH)

12.30 (No boss so sneaking on!)

curl: 9 - good curls again
Frizz:bearable - tad more than yesterday but it’s dampish outside today

Liking hair again today.  I forgot I’d ordered some giovanni gel and it came yesterday so am deliberating whether to try it tomorrow or keep going with this routine - will see how I feel in morning.  Maybe a good time to try as here myself at work so wont matter too much what it looks like - hey may turn out good!  Think positive!  wink

Friday (thank goodness) 16th October 2009

Well later with this diary today (at work!).  Didn’t do my hair till a bit later in the house so with the result everything is running late!  Anyway co rinse out as usual and scrunched a little into ends as a leave in.  Then decided to use the giovanni gel today.  Firstly not too keen on the smell.  It not horrendous but I don’t find it that pleasing!  Anyway did what it said - apply to wet hair & comb through.  Plopped then started to diffuse.  I noticed a little bit of frizzing so stopped diffusing and scrunched in a little of my normal gel and that helped.  For me tho, if I’m using a gel I don’t want to have to put another gel on top.  Anyway hair is now dry and it’s not too bad.  It certaining has more volume today.  Would I buy the giovanni again? Based on this use no.  I’ll try it one more time.  I know it’s all good stuff in it and it wasn’t too expensive (thankfully).  Will update later once I see how my hair will last.  The giovanni gel doesn’t have much hold either.  I don’t like things rock hard but I do like a bit of firmness with gels.

Products: rinse out MC +tiny bit on ends
Styling: giovanni gel + bit of FSG

Curls: 7+
frizz: bearable but more than usual

I don’t like that gel I used yesterday.  My hair feels dry today. Am going to use KCCC today as I haven’t used it for ages.  (going into town a bit later so will have time to go through the whole hair fandango if it doesn’t work out!)

Just heading up to the shower now so will report when done and dusted.

Ok in plop.  Gave my hair a good condition and put a tiny bit in on the ends as a leave in.  Then used a pea sized bit of KCCC and scrunched into one side, same for other side and same for middle head area.  Then used baked bean sized BRHG to go over top (otherwise I get frizz).  So will see how it does.  Can’t remember when I last used the KCCC.  Still love the smell of it!  Will update later on result.

Products: MC rinse out (leaving in a tiny bit on ends)
Styling: KCCC
        gel - BRHG

Later
Curl: 8 longer looser curls than norm but ok
Frizz: bearable - could prob have done with using more gel

All in all turned out ok.  Got the amount of the KCCC right so that was half the battle. Now if only I could get 2nd day hair tomorrow ......

Well today I have half second day hair - good enough as I have no work today but had I been going to work would have done the usual.  I was pleased with how it looked with the KCCC as it has been a while since I used it.  Last night I pineappled and tucked the ends into the scrunchie.  (I think it was tginger who did this) and it worked out better for me.  There is some halo frizzing but have just done the flat hand technique with some gel so that seems to have taken care of that! So am happy but now have all this extra time! Heavens what will I do with myself!

After success with the KCCC on Saturday I’m not going to risk it today - will use it on Wed as my boss is away that day! (just in case!) Today used rinse out and then gel.  It is raining here which is a nightmare however it may stop a bit before I have to leave for work (I can but hope!).  In the shower today I used the OS shower cream honey and shea butter.  It was really nice - would be good if they did a co like this.

Products
Co - rinse out MC
gel - FSG (SSH)

Will update later when hair is dry.  In plop at the moment.

9am
Curl: 9 - nice today
Frizz: better than bearable

I was looking at my hair today and it is really curly.  The diff between these products and the KCCC for me is the KCCC makes it look like you have spent ages tonging it!  The curls and more like that.  I don’t mind either look tho todays look is more predictable!

By the way the rain is still pouring!

Tues 20 Oct 2009

Today used some diff products starting with condish - used Australian Organics the one for colour treated hair.  It felt lovely. No tangles and smoothed through nicely.  (thanks to randomcurlz for the recommendation) plus it has a good bit of protein in it which I like.  Then used boots pink, a very small amount - haven’t used this for ages, finally topped off with my usual gel.  Plopping at the moment so will update later on result.  Not raining today so that will help with judging products better.  Yesterday I missed the delivery of the curlease towel by 10mins! So they are redelivering today.  Fingers crossed I’ll get it and be able to use it tomorrow am.

Products:
Co - Aus organics rinse out
styling: boots pink, FSG (SSH)

12.10

Hair turned out okay today - nice curls and no frizz.  For some reason I wasn’t really expecting it to as I couldn’t remember why I didn’t use the boots pink all the time and wondered if it was frizz related.  Anyway hair ok.  Not much hold tho - maybe in an effort to get 2nd day hair I should try a harder hold gel over the top of my other gel.  Though I don’t want to! I want as few products as possible.  However I have to weigh up about the 2nd day hair attempt….. decisions decisions!

curl: 8+
frizz: better than bearable

Rushed home from work only to discover the delivery had been at 12!! grrrr am getting it delivered to work otherwise this will go on for ever.  (hope it is the curlease towel!!!)

Plopping just now.  Used the aussie organics co again as I really liked it yesterday.  Left a little in ends and canopy.  Then put on my gel followed by boots gel as I haven’t used that for a while - well ages! (remembered what I didn’t like about the boots pink - it sort of makes my hair a bit wispy/candy flossish - noticed it last night).  I wont have 2nd day hair tomorrow as I forgot its netball night tonight so there is no chance.  So decided not to waste the BRHG will maybe do that tomorrow.  It is raining plus a howling wind outside - well maybe howling wind is a bit over the top but its windy not breezy.  I hate the weather here.  Having said that, when I lived in the US I did kind of get fed up of the really good weather from May-Nov so I suppose I’m never happy!  Will update later on how hair turns out (will need to be careful at work as think MD is coming in but if he does it will be first thing on his way to Aberdeen).  Fingers crossed I’m not looking a BC when he arrives!

Products
co: Aussie Organics rinse out plus 5p left in ends
Gel: FSG (SSH) plus boots on top

12ish

Curl: 8+ good shinkage
Frizz: better than bearable despite the weather (tho not been outside much)

Took some scrunching to get the crunch out today however hair sitting not bad.  Think I may try this routine tomorrow to see if I can get 2nd day hair for Friday.

Courier just delivered my curlease towel!! Can’t wait to use it tomorrow!

Thurs 22 Oct 2009

Have used lots of new things today!  Firstly used the crown pride avocado detangling co as a rinse out.  It is very thick and creamy - maybe good as a dt for this reason.  Then had a sample of Darcy botanicals curls coiling gel so have used that today with my usual gel on top.  Not overly keen on the scent of the darcy’s but as my own gel is on top it isn’t lingering.  I’m not too worried about the darcy’s as its one of those products that would need to be ordered from overseas - so I’d rather not like it too much as it’s going to be an expensive pain to get hold of - however should it be some miracle stuff well .... will cross that bridge when hair is dry!

Have also used my curlease towel - plopping in it as a write.  It is really big.  I plopped the way of the jessicurl video but tomorrow may try using it like a turban just to see how that is.

Will update later as per usual on result.

Products:
Rinse out: Crown pride avocado
Styling: Darcy Botanicals, FSG (SSH)

8.45am ish

Well not so fond of the Darcy’s.  First off it took a lot to scrunch out.  Hair is ok - maybe it’ll get better as the day goes on - will update later.

Friday 23 Oct 2009 (gosh Friday again!)

Plopping at the moment.  Wrapped my curlease towel round today - maybe a good idea to practise with this towel when my hair is dry so I know what I’m doing rather than fumbling about with wet hair.  Today my hair felt dry and hard (sorry Darcy botanicals but I don’t think your gel is for me) so gave it a good condition in the shower leaving it in for 5 mins.  Added a bit also on ends & canopy before my gel.  Didn’t try anything new today - thought I’d better give it something familiar!  Will report later on outcome. I was watching the final of masterchef last night and fell asleep around 15mins before the end and so missed who won!!  So am going away to check teletext to see who it was.

Products:
Rinse out + 5p end 5p canopy (MC)
gel: FSG (SSH)

12.30 ish
Hair back to normal again.  No more dry/hard feeling.  curls are good. I think I’m going to give the ends of my hair a trim tonight - nothing drastic maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch and also tidy it up a bit.  Will prob leave the front fringie/hanging bit as that’s the bit that would be noticed if anything drastic happened!

curls: 8+
frizz: better than bearable

10.30ish
Did my little hair trimming.  I don’t think anyone will notice the difference.  I just snipped a tiny bit off the ends where I could see any fizzly bits.  (Left the front well alone!)

Well I was at a bit of a loss what to use today for a change.  Last night I did a protein leave in rinsed out then followed by a little leave in plopped and just went to bed with it still damp.  So this am I knew I just had to wet it.  Have just done that, and after a bit of deliberation used the recoil followed by LA sports gel which I got ages ago in a swap and wasn’t overlay pleased with it however best to give it another chance.  Also today it is very misty/damp like outside so figured I’d be better with a harder hold gel.  I don’t have any plans today to go anywhere special so I’m not too fussed about how hair turns out.  I’m plopping just now so will update later on result.

Products:
styling - recoil
gel: LA sports gel

Later
Curl: was good 8
Frizz: bearable - but weather is pretty awful today - wind and rain

Just back from taking one of the dogs out - am absolutely drenched.  We have gales and driving rain.  I look like I just stepped out of the shower with my clothes on! Going to plop hair get changed and then not do a scooby to hair for the rest of the day!  Have one more dog to take out but will wait in the hope that something will stop - either the wind or the rain!!

Firstly forgot about the clocks going back an hour so that was a nice surprise this am! Well yesterday I made a sleep cap and last night at about 9pm thought I’d use it so I rinsed & used a little co to detangle put on some KCCC and a little gel, plopped for about 20mins then just left my hair.  When it was time for bed it was still wet however just pineappled and put the cap on.  Had no sooner settled down when the doorbell rang!  Peeped out (thoughts of hilda ogden in my head!) and saw it was a pizza delivery man!! As the dogs were barking hysterically (they do that when the doorbell rings) I had the choice of quickly taking off the hat (well bonnet really!) and I just thought ‘what the heck’ left it on opened the door a tiny bit to confirm that I didn’t order a pizza! Then went back to bed.  This morning when I took the cap off and the scrunchie out there were curls!  My hair was still damp believe it or not.  However I may try this again but making sure that my hair is dry before I pineapple and bonnet it.  I would say my hair is a bit frizzier than normal but that could be due to the fact it wasn’t dry so I’ll put some gel in and give it a little diffuse and then leave it.  Weather wise it looks like it’ll be the same tornado as yesterday so I’m not going to spend a lot of time getting my hair nice.

Products last night:
co rinse out (very little)
KCCC
FSG (SSH)

curls: 7ish
frizz: more than normal - bearable at a push (as Im not going to work)

Well last night I water washed and used a rinse out then gel.  Plopped and diffused but didn’t scrunch out the crunch.  At bed time I pineappled and put the bonnet on.  This am my hair was still crunchy ready to be scrunched out (I haven’t done it yet will do it shortly tho).  I found it a bit of a challenge in the shower making sure I didn’t get my hair wet so will need to get a shower cap.  The other difference I noticed is that I don’t feel quite so awake!  Usually after my shower I feel perked up but because of the restricted shower I’m not getting the ‘ready for work’ feeling!  However I can’t have it every way!  I suppose the test will be how it looks tomorrow if I do the pineapple bonnet routine.  As I’m not at work tomorrow I’m as well to try it.

Products
Rinse out - crown pride avocado
gel - FSG (SSH)

Now scrunched!
curls: 8
frizz: better than bearable

Update 2pmish
Just added a pic to my fotki - will add one tomorrow if hair stands up to another bonnet night.  (if hair is standing up wont be taking a pic!!)

Tues 27 Oct 2009

Well today will be the test as far as the pineappling/bonnet goes.  Last night I put some gel in my hair using a flat hand just over the outer parts of it - like I was going to pull it back into a poneytail, then pineappled and put the bonnet on.  I am still in that state just now!  Will un-bonnet myself in a little while.  I have been up a good part of the night with one of the dogs - say no more.  You guys with dogs will know what I mean!  Thankfully I have a day off work so there is no rush this am!

Products last night:
gel - FSG (SSH) smoothed over hair

Will update shortly

Update - took hair out a little while ago and left it to drop.  Just had a look at it actually looks not too bad at all.  The curl has maybe dropped a tad, but it is not overly frizzy.  I will take a pic shortly and put it in my fotki to compare to yesterday.

Curls: 7
Frizz: bearable frizz

Would I leave it like this for work - I could actually.  This is the first time I’ve really felt like I could.  I would prefer it to be just washed, but you know, this would have been ok for work.  (Have just seen the weather report for us, blinkin more rain!  However it isn’t windy ....)
