Curly Girls Dream Cleanser

I used this last night and I’m not one to gush over a product on the first use but this is really, really good.  I used a 20p sized blob and gently massaged my scalp, smoothed through the rest of my hair and rinsed.  My hair felt lovely after it.  Clean but not stripped or dry.  I finger de-tangled. The ingredients can be found here
http://www.abeni.co.uk/ourshop/cat_244148-Products-for-Curls.html.  I find it hard to describe scents but it is a light scent that doesn’t linger - sort of citrus type notes in it I think.  I was worried that the product may be too heavy for my lighter curls but it wasn’t - I would imagine that if you have more denser curly hair you may need to use more than I did but its definitely worth a try.  Will I be buying this? - a resounding yes!

Avocado & Kokum Conditioner Bar (Sample)

I also used this last night after the dream cleanser and again I am really impressed.  I ‘swiped’ the bar through my hair then left on for 2-3 minutes and then rinsed.  My hair felt lovely.  The thing I liked about this bar is you can add the conditioner where you want it and also how much you want i.e. you could swipe a few times in one place if your hair really needs it.  Scent wise, again light - sort of citrus notes - the scent doesn’t linger so this is a bonus if you are pretty sensitive to smells. The ingredients are here: http://www.abeni.co.uk/ourshop/cat_244148-Products-for-Curls.html - sample size is a really good way to try things.  Will I be buying this again? - yes - though the sample size bar should last for ages so it probably wont be for a while!

After using these products I just used my normal products. Once my hair dried it looked lovely - smooth but not flat.  Today too hair is looking fine and feels lovely.  Delivery is quick and also customer service is very good - I received an email from them after my order (not an automated one either!)

These products are really good and if you are looking to try something different please check out this company.

(Also have a sample of the light rinse out conditioner to try so will add this into this review when I’ve tried it).

Avocado & Kokum Conditioner Bar (Sample)

I have used this 3 times now, and I’m impressed.  I have had a similar experience as CHM, but we probably have similar hair - ie fine and easily over-loaded.

Scent-wise I think it is bergamot that I can smell, which is nice and citrusy.

I wipe it through my hair from about half way down, avoiding the roots, and then just go over and over the dryest parts.  The best part about it is definitely that you can control where you are putting it on much easier than a liquid one.  I then leave for a minute or two, rinse and then just finish off with a couple of drops of argan oil as a leave in.

It is definitely leaving my hair looking nice - well conditioned without being too weighed down.  My scalp doesn’t seem to be objecting too much (although it isn’t good at the moment in general - not due to anything I’m putting on it though), which is obviously a big deal for me and conditioners.

I have the liquid conditioner and shampoo still to try.

I ordered the sample bar conditioner..
Postage was quick, received within two days with emailed updates along the way!

Pros
It gave a lot of slip, and made my hair feel so soft and buttery.
Loved the citrus fragrance

Cons
Quite hard to distribute through out my head, due to solid shape.
It’s helped my confirm that I am not patient enough for conditioner bars.
I had to keep rubbing and rubbing to get the consistency I wanted in my hair—ALOT.
If one is trying to apply conditioner sparingly to their hair, this would be the best method.
In my case, due to my hair type, texture and density, this does not suit me.
I need my conditioners thick, creamy and easy to apply.

You could try what I do with my shampoo and melt it in a bottle the night before by leaving it in a pool of water?

I have now used the Dream Cleanser, and so far I am impressed.  It is incredibly rich, and yesterday I was able to use that, followed by the conditioner bar, with no extra oil as a leave in.  This was largely due to the moisturising effects of the shampoo.  The scent is something like… lemongrass, I think.

Good idea..
I’ve left it in a soap dish to partially melt over night…
A bottle is an even better idea..

funny enough I actually love shampoo bars… as that is one product I try to use sparingly

Not ‘poo pelicano, ‘tis condish!  wink

A lovely curly sent me a sample (thank you!  grin ) and I have only used once, so far, but am impressed! Light, citrusy smell and texture similar to Tresemme - but lighter. Moisturising and cleansing - my hair felt clean after use! I will def buy this! I have enough left for another use - yay!

Nooo, I mean the liquid shampoo was so moisturising that I only needed the conditioner bar with nothing left in.

I’m getting confused… think I need a lay down! wink

I have just ordered another Dream Cleanser and the solid conditioner bar, as I’m still finding them good.  The Dream Cleanser is a little rich, in that it builds up on my roots, but I use my chelating shampoo too, to reduce this as much as possible.
