Having had an excellent curl day (possibly my best ever), I’ve managed to get round to writing this. Also got no coursework (well, not much) to do tonight!

I can’t really say I’ve got ‘curly’ hair. Its definitely type 2, but waves are about the best it gets, normally.

I’ve been messing about with routines for years, and finally got one that works. I did get the idea from CG, but still use shampoos and various cones.

atm, I’m using the smallest amount of Tresemme shampoo I can get out of the bottle, and rubbing that in (like how CG rub in their co-wash). After washing out, I get a huge amount of the tremsemme conditioner (1 of their smaller bottles lasted just under 3 weeks) and put that on the ends first, then rub it through my scalp, basically doing a co-wash with it. I make sure I comb with my fingers (the most ‘brushing’ my hair gets apart from when its cut). I leave it in whilst I use a face scrub, then wash it out really well, finishing with cold water.

I wrap it in an old t-shirt for about 10 minutes, then put a really small amount of the condition back in it, and scrunch using the t-shirt. Then let it air dry for about 20 mins, before scrunching in (again with t-shirt) a mixture of a discontinued l’oreal curl cream and tigi curl amplifier. Then it gets probably another 30-45 mins air drying, before I go to bed. The t-shirt means it is probably about 80% dry when I go to bed, which is much better than a normal towel.

So, thats the routine I’ve been following for about 2 weeks now.

I got my top layer trimmed on friday (hair dressers was round, and insisted…it was getting seriously out of shape though). Also had it thinned, which is a MUST for me.

Anyway, got up today with perfectly definied waves/curls! Definitely more curl than normal, although that has dropped a little now. Hardly any frizz either, and good clumping. Only needed to refresh one patch at the back of my head with wet hands, and that went well.

Walked to school, and didn’t frizz. Checked at lunch, and it was still fine. Then got a compliment from a friend (and that’s rare, most of them are straight-addicts).

And its still relatively frizz free.

So…best curl day since my curls dropped out (10 years ago). Extremly happy with my new routine, and might even consider trying to take some photos (need to find my awful camera, then the usb cord)!

So…today was my second hair day. And for the first time ever I didn’t feel awful. Its gone a tiny bit greasy and heavy now, and started to frizz (just got back from parents evening, and seemed to be running my hands though it - something I do when I’m nervous!). So will wash and try to repeat exactly what I did last time.

Going shopping on Saturday for more hair products. Looking at trying the boots curl cream (but its been sold out in every northants/leics store I’ve been in).

Off to wash hair now, will let you know how my curls are tomorrow! x

Not a great day today. Ended up going to bed with very wet hair, then forgot to sleep on my back or front - was very obvious I sleep on my right, as my hair on that side is completly flat, with no curl, very little wave, and lots of frizz. Left side was alright this morning.

Then had double PE, followed by my cervical cancer jab. Accidently looked at the neede in my arm, tensed and it got stuck! Was fine with it until that happened. Despite not being able to raise my right arm, managed to run a hand through my hair, and now have huge amounts of frizz.

To top it all over, think I accidently concentrated product on my top layer, so it looks quite heavy. As I’m going away tomorrow (only for a night, and only to grandparents, but the shower is so weak it takes me ages to make sure my hair is wet) I was going to wash it again tonight anyway. Hoping for a better day tomorrow…

Had reasonable curls over the weekend, but for some reason my hair was completly knotted when I got home yesterday evening. Hadn’t slept well the night before (arm still aching, and woke up with the dog lying across me) so that might have had something to do with it.

Washed my hair normally, didn’t put any leave-in conditioner on. Then used my new products…boots pink creme and the Umberto Giannini scrunching jelly. Scrunched these through using my old t-shirt, plopped for about 5 mins, then air dryed before going to bed.

Woke up this morning and my hair looked pretty good and felt wonderful. Was amazingly soft. I think I need more practise with distributing the products evenly, as theres a definite ‘heavy’ patch on the back of my head. Unfortuntely no one can see my defined waves today…was literally just heading out of the door when I decided to be violently ill. (typical…spent ages gently scrunching out the leftover crunch in my hair).

Not a good day today, but it doesn’t matter as I’m still ill.

Hair feels very greasy, and probably looks it too (haven’t bothered looking lol). Don’t know whether its the products, the fact that I’m ill, or whether I was messing about with my hair yesterday….and obviously could be a combination of all three.

As a precaution, might go back to my usual products until my Thursday wash. Have a lot of coursework to do over next weekend, so won’t be going out on Saturday (so ‘second’ day hair doesn’t matter).

Used the boots curl creme and umberto giannini gel on Thursday night, and made sure hair was extremly close to being dry before I went to bed.

Woke up with well defined curls on bottom layer. For some reason top layer wasn’t very good (probably slept in a weird position) - sort of sticking out in a triangle. Managed to sort that our though, and managed to be out of the door by 8am without rushing. Hair wasn’t too frizzy when I finally got home at 2am (went out with mate straight after school, then her dad ran out of petrol on the way home lol).

Today its much better, hardly any frizz, top layer really good. Will probably do the same again on my next wash.

BTW, thats for the tip about making the pink curl creme turn white - I ended up putting much less in that before, and it felt nice and thick.

Actually acheived second day hair AGAIN today (washed on sunday night). And it looked good…until I stepped out of the door into the rain. Its actually the first bit of rain thats lasted for more than five minutes in the area of the town where I live (strange…don’t know why, but our little hill hardly gets any rain). Luckily didn’t have to walk to school, so hair didn’t frizz too much.

Actually, considering I’ve walked home in the wind, its not looking bad at all. However, I find the boots curl creme and the gel I’ve been using makes my hair slightly greasier quicker…so will definitely be washing tonight.

On a downside, think it might be giving me spots confused - but theres a few things that could be causing them (must remember to take off makeup at night!!) so will keep using for a few weeks.

Really been neglecting this diary…tbh although I’ve been looking through the forum most days, I havent had the time to write properly (I like to blame it on the loads of coursework I’ve got, but its probably more true that I’ve been distracted by facebook!).

Been alternating between my tigi curl amplifer, and the boots creme/pink gel. Had some alrite days, but today is NOT one of them. Second day hair today, and it was fine this morning, just a little greasy. Now have the most frizz I’ve had in a few weeks, and can’t wait to wash my hair.

On a plus side, my hair is feeling in a much better condition than it was a few weeks ago. As I’ve said before, I’m not CG, but have followed a lot of tips to improve my ‘routine’

Have begun to notice something thats happened lately, but think I’m going to post a new thread about it (when I’ve finished my ‘coursework’)

Washed hair last night, used tigi curl amplifer. All was fine, until I saw my hair when I got home from school. The frizz in unbelievable…think its probably the change in the weather.

On a plus side, I’ll be able to tell you all how the products I use hold up in the heat…booked tonight, off in 12 days. Need to go and get an intensive conditioner, still got my sun/sea protect spray from this summer, and will have to take my ‘plopping’ t-shirt.

Decided that the boots creme creme, and curl friends pink gel is better in the colder weather. Used it last night, and have hardly frizzed today, even though I walked to school in very light rain.

I’m going to try using the creme on its own though…I had lovely clumps before I applied the gel, and they did seem to disappears a bit afterwards. But I honestly don’t think there will be enough hold (tbh, I have never really enjoyed using gels, but need the hold, and it does look good at the moment anyway).

Having a good hair day today, even had another compliment. & have noticed that more and more people are wearing hair curly/wavy atm.

Decided to wash hair in the morning, and leave to completly air dry (instead of going to bed with damp hair). Used boots curl creme and the curl friends gel, my hair is almost 100% dry now. I think going to bed with it damp stops me having ‘crunch’ in the morning, and my hair is rock hard in places. I can cope with that, as curl definition seems to be very good.

Bought the Boots Ingredients Cammomile and Lemon Balm intensive mask yesterday. All the other masks were sold out in the boots I went to, and this one looks alright (can’t stand the smell though - very sweet and sickly). It says for blonde hair, which my hair is, sort of. The last time I had it highlighted was christmas, but it went very blonde in the summer (and still is at the bottom). As I’m off on holiday in 8 days (counting!) my hair should lighten a bit.

Forgot to apply gel over boots curl creme last night - not a good thing for curls, but might do it again. I had straight hair, no frizz, but it was slightly choppy and messy. It actually looked really good. Unfortunately has frizzed now, but it was windy/rainy walking home.

At least the heating has broken at school - that really does make my hair frizz. Oh well, three days left before half term, and this time next week I’ll be on the beach.

Trying to get more moisture into my hair ready for my holiday, so applied some of my Tresemme (not CG) conditioner as a leave in, followed by the boots curl curl, then the curl friends gel.

Today my hair feels moisturised, but not too heavy (which is what I expected). I scrunched in all the products with my t-shirt (spent ages doing that).

Curl definition is good, but my top layer has just gone straight in the past week, and no amount of scrunching will change that. Its not looking too bad at the moment though, maybe because my hair is definitely more loose waves than curls.

I am experiencing some awful build up atm, which is something I really didn’t expect, espiecally as I still use non-CG shampoos etc. The only thing I can think of is I opened a new bottle (of the same) conditioner, and it feels a bit thicker than normal.

On the plus side, my hair feels really moisurised.

Just a quick post - leaving at 2am so need to sleep!

Actually watching the plopping video today, and followed it. My curls look really quite good, although not dry yet. Knew I should’ve watched it ages ago….

Have packed only half my hair stuff - proud of myself for that! Hopefully my hair should stay moisturised, curly (or at least wavy), reasonably frizz free etc. And I really want my natural highlights back!

Ok, thats it. Bye for a week!
