cloclo if you go to the pound shop (or get your mum to go - teenagers don’t like going in there!) they have microfibre turbans for £1 (obviously!) this may be good for you for overnight or plopping - just pile your hair on top of head don’t twist it into the long bit of the turban.

Will think about that….but I like using a long sleeved shirt that I can tie easily. Its pretty tricky doing that so don’t know if I’d struggle with an actual towel (tbh I never managed to get my hair in one of the normal ‘turban’ style).

Anyway, when I took my hair down after 6 hours plopping it was still damp, but the curl formation was excellent…best I’ve ever seen it. I put a bit of my gel in, then left to air dry for about 30 mins and it was dry by the time I went to bed (if I leave it to air dry normally it would take about 4+ hours).

In the morning you could tell which side of my head I had slept on as I’d lost some of the defintion on one side, but the curls were still really good.  I managed to destroy some of them getting dressed (in a hurry, woke up late) so ended up with more wavy hair but thats nothing new. The best thing was no frizz, and none developed during the day.

Now my second day hair…waves not curls, definition good, minimal frizz. Its survived two walks to school, one walk into town, and one walk from the bus stop to home and still looks alrite!

Was going to try and do this again, but haven’t washed my hair yet, so it will still be quite wet when I come out of the plop. Can’t wait to get a hairdryer with a diffuser (the one hairdryer in the house is 22 years old - first xmas present my dad bought my mum which is why she won’t buy another) for christmas as I can’t stand going to bed with wet hair!

cloclo it is a ready made turban - not a towel - you just pop you hair in twist & button it!

Ok will think about that…

Todays curls aren’t good. Hair was still very wet when I went to bed, and so I ended up losing a lot of defintion and volume (particularly on my right side).

Have the day off tomorrow (random teacher training day in the middle of term) so am going to leave my hair plopping for ages and see what happens. At least doing that stops me from messing about with it as its drying lol.

Plopped for nearly 8 hours. Didn’t touch my hair at all during that time, including removing t-shirt and putting on again…apart from when I had to sign for a delivery and decided I wasn’t answering the door looking like I did!

Hair was a little too dry when I took it off (maybe 30mins less would’ve been perfect), but wet hands, then applied gel. Sat in the car for an hour, got out, shook my head upside down, and had great hair…and it was CURLY!!! Everywhere, not just random bits.

Second day hair was great too, definitely much more curl than normal, and its not too greasy either. And no frizz even though I spent a whole day xmas present shopping.

Yay, fab news CloClo! Have never tried plopping for that long - obviously did the trick for you! Next time we get a really rainy day (probably any time soon!) and I have no intention of venturing out, I will give it go!  grin

Even have third day hair today…although slightly too greasy. Curls have definitely dropped into waves now, but still great defintion, and good volume too.

Have been plopping for 3.5 hours now….the t-shirts just beginning to slide off my head so will probably take it off in another 30mins-1hr and put my gel on, then air dry (not long now until I get a decent hairdryer!).

Am doubting whether I’ll get good curls though today. Was struggling to detangle with just my fingers, so grabbed the brush that was in the shower, divided into sections then gave it a good detangle (with loads of conditioner). Don’t think I’ve ever shed so much hair…it needed it though as was beginning to feel too thick and heavy. Because I know how flat my hair normally is after brushing, I shampooed and conditioned again. The clumps I saw developing when I applied the boots curl creme looked good considering I’d brushed though.

Well, it wasn’t surprising that my curls weren’t too good with the amount of brushing my hair got last night. After I posted I went to inspect the state I’d left the shower in and couldn’t believe the amount of hair I’d lost….I’ve never lost that much before. Luckily not seemed to have lost any volume.

I can tell my second day hair will be awful tomorrow. Will see what the weathers going to be before I decide what I’m going to do with it.

BTW, don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but I can’t put my hair up…everything I try just either falls down, or its so tight I (1) look bald, and (2) I get a headache. So any suggestions (easy ones please) for putting my hair up???
When I used to do ballet and tap it took my mum nearly 45 mins to put it up, using almost a whole pack of gribs and two bun-nets. And it still used to fall down.

you could try a banana clip….this is what i use sometimes when i want a change..cant find a piccy to upload at the moment but if you type in banana clip into ebay you should get a good result…i got mine from there..in fact if you look at my avatar..it is what i have in my hair to make it look like that….
just a thought*grin*
and its pretty easy.. just bend at the waist, so all your hair is falling forward and starting at the back “comb” all your hair into the middle and then lift yourself so your standing staright up again and then just clip the two ends together, and voila!!!

Won’t be doing a long plop tonight….geography coursework due in on friday. So that means my hair suffers and won’t be washed until late. I don’t normally put coursework before hair but thought I had this weekend to do it as well so haven’t done much of it.

Anyway, as predicted second day hair was awful but didn’t have a chance to do anything with it.

Right, don’t know why I logged on here tonight cos I’ve got distracted by all the other threads. Excuse to the teacher “I got distracted by the British Curlies site”  don’t think it will go down well LOL.

It might work if your teacher has curly hair! ;o)

Think it would help if he had ANY hair LOL.

Decided I couldn’t face sleeping with wet hair and went to bed whilst still plopping. Can vaguely remember sitting up at about 3am and sorting out the t-shirt that had slipped off.

It was quite frizzy this morning, wet it with my hands and applied some curl friends gel. Was still a bit of a mess, but it sorted itself out, and acutally still looks nice now.

Am starting to devlop what look like spirally-ringlets randomly around my head.

Anyway, back to the coursework.

Just a quick post again tonight.

Second day hair tonight, wasn’t too greasy. In fact, I thought it was looking good, and it must’ve been because I got several comment about it at a sixth form information evening I went to.

Don’t think I did anything to it at all this morning, I may have wet the top layer slightly but thats it.

Unfortunately will be doing a morning wash tomorrow (no hot water tonight, still doing the coursework and Gavin & Staceys on). Won’t have time to dry properly so I dread to think what it will look like….this will be one of the days where I grab various product and put them on!
