Yes, it was great fun - not so great for the hair (have some wonderful tangles to go through today) but I’d definitely do it again!

That was definitely the best picture I found, I think basically what I want is some shorter layers, and a bit more shape, bounce and volume.

Have decided my hair could be in need of protein, so have blended around 1/3 of an avocado (over-ripe), 1/2 a banana, bit of honey, olive oil and an egg and piled it in my hair, wrapped in cling film, and about to wash it out. Felt more nourishing and good for my hair than using mayo….and smelt a lot better too! Hopefully it will perk my hair up.

Think I will try mousse to style today - hoping my cut will also help my dreadful second day hair as otherwise I’ll be getting up very early on friday to wash before sixth form….not something I fancy, I’ve not seen 7am for months (apart from an overnight stay at the airport).

Well I have had my cut, and its still really good…possibly a little short but its been heavily detangled and shampooed a lot so its also not lying right (so basically once I start giving it a bit of rest it should look a little longer).

I’ve got shorter, much more bouncier layers around the top, and a lot of shape around my face….the styling was also great yesterday but didn’t last overnight so had to quickly rewash this morning. Styling was a little rushed, so its a tad too frizzy for my liking, but the volume and bounce is great!!!

Will hopefully take photos once it has calmed down…will co-wash for a few days I think just to get some moisture back into it.

It seems to have grown well already!

Hair has been great the past few weeks - have been using mousse more with great results (still top with gel though). Used curl creme and gel today, got a lot of frizz over the day. Also have bought a new mousse (boots essentials), when my eyes feel up to it I’ll post the ingredeints to see if they are CG.

Need to learn some simple updoes though, am getting bored of my hair down all the time.

Its been ages since my last post - hair is doing well, the shape I’ve got at the moment is really what I’ve been aiming at for years…so I’m extremly happy with it.

Have been using mousse topped with gel, great results with the UG one, not so good results with the Boots Essentials stuff (not bad results…just very little hold no matter what other products are used).

I try to alternate between co-washing, and putting a tiny bit of ‘poo’ into my ‘co-wash’ and hair is definitely looking great for it - I rarely use a rinse out anymore, apart from when I need to detangle (which reminds me, as it hasn’t been done in quite a few weeks that is probably on this weekends to-do list).

I think I’ve finally realised my hair isn’t as fine/medium as Ithought it would was - treating it as coarse has definitely helped. Have used no protein for a long time, and lots of moisture - and great results. I find it easier not to DT though, but keep equal-as-possible levels of moistue (spritz-and-condish method good for this!).

Thanks CurlyFlix….went away for a week, then just haven’t had quite enough time to sit and catch up on all the posts.

Now a hair update, hair has been pretty good. Think treating it as coarse hair and leaving off the protein has definitely worked (however, now feel it needs a bit of protein, will maybe try that tomorrow). Had a haircut during half term, love the shape of it again..since tuesday though hair has been a bit dodgy, which is why I’m thinking it needs some protein.

Have been using the Boots Essentials Mousse…am still undecided about it though. Don’t think I like it as much as the UG one, I think there is a Shockwaves one that is silicone-free as well which I want to try sometime.

Will try to keep up to date with the site now!

Can’t believe how long it has been since I posted…!!

Hope everyones ok, I haven’t even been lurking on the site so I’ve got so much to catch up on. My excuses - schoolwork, part time job, and ill health (now known to be down to numerous allergies - though I’m still not sure what some of them are!). But I’m settled now with my feet up ready for a few hours of catch-up reading.

My hairs been pretty much neglected, although hasn’t looked too bad. Lately, though, I’ve gone back to my old Umberto Ginanini and Boots Pink combo from the start of this diary (around 20 months ago - wow, though slightly worrying as I’m still using the same bottles) and its working great. Had a cut last week and was short of money so tried someone else - bad mistake, I’ll let it grow out and go back to Ashley at Hensmans. It did need the cut though, stress (I can’t believe I moaned last year about GCSEs..compared to this year they were a walk in the park) had really affected my hair and it was bone dry, despite piling on the conditioner.

I must must must upload a new photo sometime soon - I have more corkscrew curls now. (Hence why I’m using a preset avator at the moment).

Looking forward to catching up! x

And yet again its been far too long since I posted…..damn A-levels and university applications…
Was simply too busy to even look on here for months - my personal statement took over my life (NEVER thought that 4000 characters would be so difficult to write!), and then my time was spent obsessively checking my emails waiting for offers..and then maybe checking again two minutes later cos ‘you never know’!!

BUT hopefully, I’m back…or at least I am until I realise I will have to do some work for my exams which are coming up in *gulp* a few weeks!

Hair is basically a mess, but I’ve pretty much realised it will never be curly all the time. It loves the cold at the minute though (thank god that horrible warm and virtually humid November has gone), and seems to have gone spirally….most of the time its just tousled and get-out-of-bed messy, although that might be because it is….
It desperately needs dying sometime, and possibly another cut (split ends!!) but at the moment I simply cannot afford that (christmas and my other halfs birthday coming up, don’t think he’d be impressed if I spent my budget on hair, though it’d serve him right for destroying it by backcombing it last night).

Anyway, looking forward to catching up with whats going on…hello again everyone!

Hi CloClo, One thing you couldn’t do when busy (I followed this when I was doing exams) is do protective styling and overnight treatments. Also you could self trim and dye at home. If you use a dye close to your natural colour you could get away with more roots. I’m taking to dyeing at home but I like the two tone look on afro/kinky hair. Black roots and brown ends. The other more expensive way to avoid the roots is to have your colourist do a paint on a creative colour of low lights and highlights with an all over colour close to your natural hair. Do you have a talented friend who can do this, cheaper? Lol! So you have multitonal hair with easily disguisable roots.you also can hair pin your parting together to hide the roots depending on how much roots you have.

Thanks for your advice…not sure if you’ve got the right person though cos I have fine (though a lot of) wavy hair…overnight treatments and protected styling would probably completely overload my hair. Though it could use a DT, which I’ll hopefully do next week smile
Colouring I do myself, just use a packet one…my hair is naturally ‘highlighted’ and the colour I use lets this come through so thats not too much of a problem. And my parting is where it decides to fall on that day…unless its so horrific I clip the whole top layer back smile
Thanks again smile

Hello again everyone.

Thought I’d post here first to see if I could get any advice, rather than making a brand new thread. Recently, I’ve switched to poo-ing with Tresemme Naturals, and my hair loves this shampoo. However, it now can’t stand conditioner. At all. Doesn’t matter what I use, or however little or watered down. It will go greasy, heavy and just eurgh. My hair isn’t too dried out (considering it desperately needs cutting - its been 4 months), but I’m worried about the long term effects. Any advice?
