I find smoothing a little almond oil on my hair after my leave-in makes it shine really well.  I’ve tried coconut oil and found it too greasy (I was also fed up of finding solidified flakes of it all over my bathroom!) and pungent. Almond oil really has no smell, feels lightweight and is much less messy to apply.

Hi brownstudies,

the almond oil sounds intriguing…where do you get it from?
Thanks!

Also, thanks to this thread…my hair has lost its shine a bit!

I buy mine from Holland and Barratt http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=479&searchterm=almond oil&rdcnt=1 It’s typically marketed as a massage oil as it’s a good base oil for adding fragrance to and gentle on skin.

I also sometimes used it in my conditioner along with a little heated honey. You only need a tiny bit so a bottle lasts a long time.

Good old Holland and Barrett!
Thanks for that. It seems reasonably priced as well.
