Right, haven’t been writing for a while. Had a few GF Camo gel and Naked Curl Cream related bad days, I think it’s the glycerin and (NCC) alcohol content.

Had three fabulous days with only two products, Tresemme Naturals and Boots Purple! I was literally so amazed I could get such great results!

Went shopping today and bought… A lot! Four bottles of Tresemme Naturals (both Moisture and Smooth), OS Mint and Tea Tree Conditioner, Superdrug Mint and Peppermint Conditioner, Superdrug Sweet Almond and Coconut Conditioner, Inecto Pure Coconut Conditioner and another tub of the Boots Purple gel.

I think I’m set for the next… few years! for cowashing, DT’s and rinse outs!! I can’t wait to start trying them, and I’ve set up a GoogleDocs sheet to log what I like, how much it cost etc. You can have a look if you like!

I am finding I need to add a bit more moisture so I think I’ll do a DT shortly. I’ve not touched the lowpoo in quite some time, so I’m rather chuffed! I can’t wait for summer so I can forget school and do more hair related stuff.

I made Flax Seed Gel! All I added to the basic recipe was 2 tbspn of EVOO and about 12 drops of Lavender Essential Oil. It yielded about 250-350ml? I have found a new love! I’d been having problems with heavy, glycerin rich stylers so I dropped them from my routine and got better results. I lacked something to make my hair softer and less dry, and the FSG was just what I needed! Shiny, softer and no crunchy waves and curls are what I have now! Who’d have thought.

It’s also been nearly a week since my last lowpoo, and I think I’ll be skipping it because cowashing is working so well for me!

Just to update, my most recent routine is as follows:

Cowash with Tresemme Naturals. Condition with Tresemme Naturals/Inecto Pure Coconut (no build up issues yet, touch wood!). Out of shower. Flax seed gel and wide tooth comb. Plop for 10-20mins. Add more FSG. Scrunch through Boots Purple. Diffuse and go! Loving this routine more and more each day!

Well, there’s no set in stone basic recipe for FSG, it’s all about altering proportions to get the consistency you want. Here’s a link to a topic about it on NC.Com:

The basic recipes about one post down and you just alter it as you see fit. EVOO is Extra Virgin Olive Oil, I added it for a moisture boost and more slip. The Lavender EO acts as a mild preservative and masks any nasty whiffs that might come from the FS. I’d really recommend having a go and playing with ingredients your hair likes, I’m loving it so far!

Right, it’s been two weeks and a day since I went CG, and a weeka since I last used a lowpoo! I’m impressed, my hair still looks shiny and healthy. I continued a few days with the Tresemme Naturals/FSG/Boots Purple and loved the results, then today I forgot to retrieve the FSG from the fridge and… forgot to use it. It definitely makes a difference! Clumps, shiny, smooth and defined. Won’t forget that again in a hurry!

Also liking using a little Coconut Oil in my hands at night in advance of cowashing in the morning, makes it lovely and soft so I think I’ll do that every other day if I can remember.

Holiday countdown - 6 days! Can’t wait!

Seriously, make the FSG as soon as possible, it’s so great!

I’m off to South West France with my family to a villa with a pool so I can’t wait! I am also worrying about holiday hair, but I figure it’s not worth spoiling my holiday so I am just going to do what I normally do, plus a little more TLC and if all else fails, tie it up. What are your ideas for holiday hair?

I also tie my hair up if I’m going somewhere hot on holiday (I put it in a messy bun and tuck the ends in to protect them). I do this in the day time and let it down at night after the sun has gone down and I’ve showered/washed my hair.

Gonna make the FSG next week,will let you know how I get on. Holiday hair - I’m thinking lots of different coloured big flower slides and coloured headscarves, I’m trying to grow my fringe out at the min, so thats a bit annoying.  Gonna have to lo-poo more than once a week I think though while I’m away for 12 days, and gonna try and find some CG friendly leave in sun protector spray thing for the daytime, any suggestions anyone?

That’s great Sheryl, I hope you get on really well with the FSG.

Isn’t holiday hair so confusing and downright frustrating sometimes!

As for my holiday, two words, Hard. Water. In the end I got into a routine of every two days doing a low poo, and I got on pretty well with that. Sadly on one of the days on holiday I… ahem… blow dried my hair. Yes, I know, shoot me now! Fortunately I totally didn’t feel myself so I won’t be doing that again in a hurry!

Doing some weekly honey lightening so I’ll keep updating about that. Thinking about treatments, I’ve done loads of oil and moisture ones, but I’ve neglected Protein Treatments, so I’ll do one soonish!

My waves are morphing into botticelli curls in some places, especially the bottom layer so I’m very excited about that- I must update my picture again soon!

My hair has truly recovered from it’s hard water and excessive swimming ordeal, and I fully credit the recovery to a) the Honey/Olive Oil mask and b) the Egg Protein masks I did on the days after I arrived home. I really must get into the habit of doing a Protein/Deep treatment regularly, my hair looks so much better for them, shiner and the ends curl better.

Most recent wash as follows:

Tresemme Naturals - Co wash and conditioner
GFR+S - Leave in, my hair was feeling a bit try so I thought I’d experiment.

Scrunch squeeze water out and gently blot with a micro fibre towel. Apply two 50p sized blobs of Garnier Camouflage gel. Diffuse until 60% dry and then air dry.

I find that glycerin makes my hair take FOREVER to dry, but has amazing clumping and formation results. I think I’ll use this gel when I have more time to style my hair. It’s quite sticky feeling and the trick is to let it dry absolutely completely before scrunching otherwise it just doesn’t scrunch.

When my hair was also totally dry I did a little bit of trimming, as per the method suggested in the CG book. I love trimming, every time I’ve done it I’ve loved the subtly tidiness it gives. Plus, it saves money because I could probably only get my hair trimmed about twice a year (when I get it highlighted) rather than going regularly. Besides, I’m trying to grow my hair so trimming by myself gives me more freedom.

Just thought I’d drop in a quick update!

I recently demi-permanently coloured my hair with Boots Botanics dye. I love it! My hair’s going from strength to strength, despite a month of blow drying when I went back to school, oh the shame! I’ve also reclassified it, I think it’s more botticelli now. Recent pic attached, hopefully!

Loving the new colur n curls Miss Waifer. I dye my hair (to cover greys) n tried to be good last time by using Herbatint, it didn’t touch my greys so having to go back to Nice n Easy, but might try the Boots one next time. Right enough talking about it (been saying since July) today is the big day of making my own FSG for the first time, starting in a min so will let you know the results.
