When I walked out this morning, I had a little encounter with a neighbour that got me thinking. Granted, my relationship with this lady could never be described as warm - civil might be the better term for it - but I was a little stung by this latest shot across the bow.
Holding up one of this morning’s papers, she smiled archly and observed, “You wear your hair just like that Rebekah Brooks woman does!” She then nodded knowingly, as if she now had justification for her dislike and distrust of me. I was so taken aback, I had no response but to smile politely and murmur something about not seeing the resemblance. (My mane is completely a different colour, for example, not nearly as thick or as long as Mrs. Brooks’, and definitely better moisturised!)
Has anyone else experienced any villification or fallout related to the high profile curly currently making the newsround? If so, how did you handle it?
