Ok, really bad hair day today downer Reason being I really badly overslept this morning, and didn’t have time to “wash” my hair.  Second day curls are really not me!  I guess it didn’t look bad to most people, but I felt it looked terrible, and really had an effect on my mood all day.  Felt horrible too downer Slight frizz, but felt very clumpy, which I don’t like, and also felt greasy.  So glad when I got home from work and jumped in the shower!  As I have shampooed tonight, and not used products, can get away with co-washing tomorrow.

Note to self; don’t oversleep in the mornings LOL!  My curls need restyling when wet!  I really envy people who get second day curls!

Me too… sorta.  I do like the clean feeling though.  Would find it hard to give up.  Hope you are getting on ok with your Sedusa, it has some great traits…. and a few drawbacks, but on balance it’s a clever machine!

Signature

Curly end of wavy. I get chunky ringlets and some elongated S shapes.  Fairly dense, medium texture, medium porosity.

Rotation is key for me.  Get on well with most Curl Junkie products especially CQ, CIAB, PP for stylers, Hard hold gel on top; usually BRHG.  Also CJ protein treatments.
Other stuff B&A Gel, EO conditioners, GFRS, Hairveda Sitrinnillah, Joico K-Pak reconstruct, Afroveda TT and CL butters.

Hi Julia,

You totally know where I am coming from!  I actually work with vulnerable adults, and all of us in the office comment we have some autistic/OCD leanings!  Mine is not having clean feeling hair!  I know others think it looks fine, but I hate the feeling red face

I do like the Sedusa diffuser, but as said before think it will work even better when my hair is longer.  There could be cut off for length going on what others have said, But am happy to keep trying it!

Emma.

Great hair day today, got perfect ringlets!  Love them grin  As per usual, my better hair days are after doing a protein DT.  Was going to try this during the week as well (normally do once a week at weekends), but I usually apply this with heat for 20 minutes, and just don’t have time during the work week to do this!  The instructions say to leave on for 5-10 minutes though, so could try this mid week (with no heat), and then heat at weekends.  Will be interesting to see if this is too much for my hair, or if it loves it rolleyes

Due to the reviews on this site, and an offer at Boots (2 for £6), I have just ordered some Naked Rescue Conditioner.  Should be here by Thursday, so will post when I have tried it.  I love my Mop Top conditioner, but not the price (After mortage, petrol and food, I’m virtually skint the day after payday downer !!!!), so if I can find a good high street conditioner, that would be great!  Saying that, the MT products do seem to last well; halfway through the conditioner (and not even a 1/4 of the way through the gel), so I guess the costs even out, as have been using them for about 2 months now, every day!  Do you think the Curl Emporium would consider a direct debit scheme for those of us less well off?  Spread the payments over 2-3 months LOL!

I know a lot of people in my life think I am obsessed with my curls, but as others have said here, they all have straight hair!  I explained to a close friend the time it takes to “do” my hair at the weekends (I.E. ACV rinse, DT or PT etc can take about an hour!), and she kind of rolled her eyes!!!  However, every one says how much better my curls are, so in my mind it is worth it tongue wink I feel so much better in myself for it, so don’t mind taking the time to look after my curls!

My order from Boots is ready to be collected, so will get the Naked conditioner tomorrow.  In the mean time I got a half a bottle of CJ Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner off the swap board, and used for the first time today.  Wow!  I like this stuff LOL!

Firstly, very easy to apply, and got great slip with it.  As my hair doesn’t tangle too much, I don’t need the slip effect as much as others do, as just applying conditioner and running my fingers through is enough, but it was a lot easier with this product.  Hair felt very silky when I rinsed it out.  Once my hair had dried I had slightly less frizz than usual (not that I get much these days LOL!), my curls were more defined without feeling too heavy or stretched.  Also by the end of the day (well, almost, it’s 6.30pm now!) next to no frizz, and no dry bits (which sometimes happens).  Even hubby commented it looked good today LOL!

Have half a bottle of this, and half a bottle of MT conditioner left, so will use both, and decide which to buy when I have almost run out! Price wise there is not too much difference. Thinking the CJ will win though if today is anything to go by grin

Tried the Naked Intensive conditioner today, and my hair still feels soft using it.  Can’t comment on the curls though, as was in a rush this morning, didn’t use as much gel as I normally do, so not 100% happy with my hair today.  Can’t blame this on the new conditioner though, it was down to my styling (or lack of it!!).  Condition still feels great though, so will give it a chance once I have more time to style!

Have just ordered some coconut oil; can’t wait for it to arrive!  Reviews on this site and others on the Internet rave about it, so be interesting to try!  Will keep you posted:-)

Had to add this!!  Was in Boots last night picking up my order, and noticed my local store does actually stock Naked products grin  So there I am, checking through ingredients, and Hubby too (he is really getting into the CG thing on my behalf!).  So there we are, saying things like “That ones no good, it has polyquats in it, silicones, etc”.  Wasn’t till we left the isle I realised there was a women behind me who probably heard everything we said; god knows what she thought!!!!.  She had straight hair LOL!

Well, my coconut oil arrived on Friday, but as I was away for the weekend didn’t get chance to try it till last night.  Hubby gave me a gorgeous scalp massage using it, and then worked it through the ends for me (I have a wonderful husband LOL!).

So, to today.  Firstly my satin pillow case is stained with the oil (luckily due to change the sheets today!), so next time I use it overnight, will have to use an old pillow case, or put a towel over it (should have thought about that last night, but was too tired!).  Secondly I don’t think I washed it out properly red face  Although my curls looked great today, and no frizz, it feels very greasy.  Smells nice though!  I am using a loo poo shampoo, and if others try this I recommend doing a second lather to wash it out!  I know a second lather is a no-no for curls, but although a lot of the oil absorbed, not all of it did, and you do need to get rid of it!  I may also try using less oil next time (although I think we only used about 2-3 teaspoons).

Won’t give up with this treatment though, especially as I am due to colour my hair this weekend; will try pre-oiling the night before I colour.  I can see this helping with the condition when colouring, so even if I only use it as a pre-treatment for colouring, it is still worth it!  Guess my fine hair doesn’t like too much oil.

Will let you know how I get on with the colouring!

Oh, I was at my parents this weekend, and even though my shower filter really helps, there is nothing like soft water for curls!  Much better curls this weekend, absolutely loved it!!!  Wish I could afford to move to Wiltshire (or get a proper water softener LOL!).  Note to self; never move to the London area, as my curls hate hard water!

I shampooed twice today (I never normally do this!) to get rid of the left over coconut oil, and although I can still feel some in my hair, much better than yesterday!  Curls are great today, so probably just need to use less oil next time, and just concentrate on the ends. Still on a learning curve here!

If you are trying oils for the first time, less is probably more, and do it when it doesn’t matter too much if your hair is an oil slick the next day LOL!

Third day after the coconut oil, and my hair is not happy with being shampooed so much red face Have now got rid of the excess oil, but my hair is dryer, and am getting itchy scalp again (not happened since going virtually CG!).  Will co-wash tomorrow with brown sugar to exfoliate, hopefully that will sort it out.  At least the coconut oil has many other uses, so won’t be wasted!

The brown sugar exfoliater worked a treat; my hair is back to normal!!  Going to try the coconut oil pre-poo tonight, as colouring tomorrow.  Will use slightly less oil, and have an old towel over my pillowcase!!!!  Would have done it today, but have the step-kids over, and as hubby was working today(  downer ) I didn’t get chance this morning!  The girls have actually commented to their Dad that I seem to be obsessed with my hair LOL!  They all have straight hair.

I am colouring tomorrow, so will keep you posted on the effect the coconut oil has.  Today was ACV rinse and PT (not sure if that was the best idea before colouring, but will find out tomorrow!).  As I have previously mentioned, hate the smell of the ACV (vinegar makes me feel sick; can’t even use tomato ketchup, as all I can smell is the vinegar downer  Hate it when people walk past me with fish and chips!!!), but I do love what it does to my hair!  A lot softer and brighter too grin The lengths we go to for our curls!!!  I also hate the smell of lavender, but that is supposed to be good as a cleaning spritz; I won’t be trying it though LOL!

To any one who is reading, have a great weekend!!

PS. Still loving my sedusar diffuser, but do find I need to use my normal diffuser cup for the roots and fringe.  As my hair gets longer (oh, must take my sea kelp tablet tonight!), will probably be easier to dry with the sedusa grin

Ok, I am typing this with one hand, as slipped on the stairs yesterday, so grabbed the handrail with my right hand, which is the one with the torn cartilage in the wrist, and OMG it hurt surprised Luckily no other injuries (just needed to steady myself), but really tweaked my wrist, and still painful today.  Am off work, as I have a choice of being in a lot of pain and not being able to use my right hand at all (I am right handed red face ), or taking lovely painkillers and being totally out of it downer  Very bored, as not much I can do, but luckily taught myself to use the computer mouse left handed after I first injured the wrist (about 5 years ago), so at least I can surf the web!!

Any way, onto the curl stuff grin  Coloured my hair yesterday, after using the coconut oil the night before.  Didn’t notice too much difference after I had rinsed and dried, but today after co-washing it is gorgeous!  Very soft, and my colour seems brighter than usual (it is the same make I normally use).  Will definitely use this again.  I have to admit I applied the oil on hair that still had styling product in (others suggest to apply to “clean” hair), but only because I wash in the morning, and couldn’t go without any styling products in it all day!!  If I have time next time I do it, I will wash my hair in the evening, dry, then apply, and see if this makes a difference.

Got my Darcy’s Coiling Jelly today, and love how soft my hair feels!  Only problem is that I don’t seem to get as much hold with this product.  Could just be that I didn’t use enough?  Will keep you posted.

I know EXACTLY what you mean about being obsessed!!!  smile

I think I have been obsessed with my hair since the day I was old enough to realise that EVERYONE had an opinion on it (whether good or bad!).  And that every new person I met would ask me within about 2 minutes of conversation whether my hair was naturally curly.  And that whenever someone wanted to distinguish me from all the other Claires in my class at school, I would be “curly Claire”.  And that whenever someone comes into the drop-in centre where I work and wants to see me but can’t remember my name, they ask for the “one with the frizzy hair” (!) etc., etc…..I think your whole identity simply becomes tied up with hair when you’re curly.

I don’t think straight people can ever really “get it” - I mean, how bad can a bad-hair-day get when you have shiny, poker straight hair that you only need to brush in the morning???  It’s not like a curly bad hair day, is it??!! Every time I straighten my hair, and leave it for 3-4 days without doing anything more than combing when I get up, I realise just how different straight girls’ lives must be gulp

But hey, I guess there are worse things to be obsessed about wink

Curlyclairebear, I so know what you mean!!!  I would love to wake up in the morning and just brush or use straightener’s on my hair smile  Don’t get me wrong, I love my curls, they make me look and feel younger than my years, but they are hard work to look after!  People with straight hair just don’t get this LOL!  Hence the reason they think I am obsessed red face Amazing when I walk down the high street, and hardly any one has curls these days; I like being different grin

Saying that, a lot of my almost straight haired friends who use flat irons panic when it rains, as they know it will frizz after it gets wet!  I don’t worry about rain, if anything it curls better after this grin

As you say, there are worse things to be obsessed by LOL!  I think it was the Aussie brand that said “Hair isn’t everything, but it’s a good place to start”.  I like that saying!!!!!
