I’m just having one last browse before I go to bed, and was just wondering what everyone did to their hair while they slept, for minimal maintenance (or at least as little as possible) the morning after, especially if you aren’t sleeping with it in twists or braids?
Sorry if this has been posted a billion times before, it’d just be nice to home and get ready for sleep at a reasonable time, rather than having to make sure everything is safely twisted down - or risk waking up with dry, flattened hair in the morning.

I pineapple my hair and cover with a su Maesta hair sock (US).  You find YouTube videos on the pineapple if you have never seen one.  It’s basically a pony tail on top of your head or more than one if your hair is shorter.  If very short you might just have to rewet or wash more often until it grows

Signature

Hair type 3c with some 4a, or Regular and Fractal Corkscrews
High porosity, particularly on canopy; normal to low elasticity; fine texture

Shampoo: Hair Rules Daily Cleansing Creme
Deep Conditioner: Devacurl Heaven in Hair, Ouidad DC
Rinse out: Tresemme Naturals
Conditioner/Leave in: Devacurl One Condition, KCKT, CJCR
Wash and Go Gels: KCCC
Bun stylers:  CJ CCCC and Hairveda Almond Glaze
Sealant: pure coconut oil
**Still experimenting for a bit of fun**

i always cover my hair with a silk scarf (tied loosely) and either twist my hair in about 10 twists, or a double pineapple.

If I am feeling extra keen, I damp my hair (giovanni direct and water in a spraybottle) before twisting - and apply a sealant.  This ensures a neat and ‘done’ twistout the next morning.

I really honestly wish I could ‘just go to bed’ like some curlies…at bedtime there’s always some sorta hassle!

good night!

I still have a TWA, so I just put on a satin scarf and go to sleep OR if my satin pillowcase is in use, just plonk my head down and snooze! My hair is ridiculously matted in the morning though, but I dunno what else to do.  downer

Up in a puff at the top of my head, or bun or two buns, or into a sue-maesta knock off i.e. cute off pantyhose waistline.

As I have never succeeded in getting second day curls ( red face ) I don’t worry too much about a night time routine, but when I remember I do apply some argon oil, and now my hair is getting longer I tend to tie it back with a scrunchie to prevent tangles over night (also stops hubby complaining that he gets a mouthful of hair when he comes to bed LOL!).

I loosely plonk it on the top of my head in a scrunchie (of the silkiest sort I can buy) and sleep on a silk pillowcase.  I like the idea of a hair sock though.

I do much the same as pelicano except that I use a 2in section cut from an old t-shirt sleeve as the scrunchie! for the hair that’s too short to reach the scrunchie I use 3 kirby grips to hold up.

I currently wash my hair once a week so on wash night (0), nights 3 & 5 I sleep with damp twists (using a leave in spray and then a creamy moisturiser on top). The other nights I sometimes use satin scrunchies or leave my hair loose. Whatever state it’s in, I always tie it back with a satin scarf before I sleep to keep the hair together. In the morning I oil my fingers and pull apart any squashed curls!

Signature

Gel - Organic aloe vera gel
Oils - Homemade hair balm

If I’ve got a wash and go I use either this technique or this one and then slap on my silk bonnet.

Hi Ladies,

Have any of you heard of the Sue Maesta hood.  Quite a few ladies on the US sites use them and they look so good when I see their hair in the morning (on youtube)!

I have looked for them online but can only find them to buy on US sites.  Does anyone have experience of buying from US sites?  I’m a little nervous to go for it, but not quite sure why!

Thnx x

Leave-In:Mixed Chicks (mixed with a drop of Olive Oil)

The above products are the ones I use mainly, but as my curly hair is quite new to me, I am still experimenting with various stylers and leave-ins, in my quest for multiple day hair!  Soooo not feeling the daily wash routine!!

I’m confused about the buff.  The website is not very clear on how it should be worn but it looks like a hat to me.  Is this really to keep a wash’n'go tidy over night? What is the material that it is made of?
