OK

I am back from my holidays and although I quite like the giovanni range I bought for holidays - the styling product to reduce frizz is not CG, so now I’m back I want to do it right.

I want a poo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, weekly treatment, and styling products.

New to CG but my hair is mainly 2s and maybe a little s wavy. Has very little spring. Is very fine and delicate. Easily weighed down and products collects and need washing out. Prone to frizz especially at halo. Quite porous. Needs a little moisture and a lot of protein (I think). Hope I’ve not forgot anything else that might be important when choosing products, but if I have, just ask.

So far I have in my basket the following items and would appreciate comments/suggestions regarding these and alternatives if these not suitable for my hair type. As you all know these items are so very expensive and I want to make good choices in order that I don’t waste my money, so your experience is invaluable.

Poo: CJ daily fix
Conditioner: CJ smoothing conditioner
Leave-in: CJ beautycurls leave-in
Styling: CJ aloe fix lite hold gel & CJ curls in a bottle & and maybe curl keeper
Next day reviver: CJ fuel enhancing spray
Weekly treatment: repair me

Hi there !

I know what you mean, Curls can be so expensive.

If your hair is fine and easily weighed down I wouldn’t use too many styling products. Curls in a bottle is definitely a good shout. I love that. I put it on after a leave in but before a gel/styler and it really helps with that surface frizz. It’s more of a serum and has a very light hold. Alot of people apply it on top of their main styler too, it’s just a case of what works best for you.

There’s also the CJ Coco Curl Creme Lite. That can work as a leave in and light styler. It works well with CIAB too.

I haven’t tried the aloe fix lite I’m afraid. Have you tried any high street/Boots type products - you could get a small size of the Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly. That actually works really well. I get good results with that and the CIAB.

I think the daily fix is quite moisturising in itself. Once again i’ve never used it but some reviewers have got over moisturised with using that and a rich wash out conditioner. Personally, I can’t even use a rinse out. I just use a leave in. The Beauticurls leave in is good too and very light, but moisturising.

Have you tried the samples/swap board. maybe you could get hold of a few samples first before you take the plunge and buy anything.

Hi Cupcake Queen

You might be right there. When I had my hair cut the other week the stylist said my hair was over conditioned. So maybe I only need a moisturising wash, with a leave-in, and two styling products. I’ve tried the boots stuff and my hair doesn’t like it. I’ve tried naked hair shampoos & conditioners and I hated them, so I’m reluctant to try their styling products, although I use only their body products (coco de mer - absolutely fabby). When I went shopping I couldn’t find UG curl jelly.

But I will take your thoughts into consideration as you make good sense. I’ll maybe skip the rinse-out conditioner and go for the leave-in only.

Just need to choose my styling products.

X

Oh well I went ahead with my CJ order. Yikes it was nearly £90.00! Will have to blame it on the migraine when the visa bill arrives red face

Anyways I ordered:

CJ daily fix - weekly wash - will co-wash/water rinse/giovanni 50:50/TTTT for other days - plus giovanni 50:50 & SaS/tresseme naturals for rinse-out if needed
CJ repair me - weekly treatment - alternated with giovanni reconstructor and joico kpak conditioner

CJ beauticurls leave-in - small amounts neat when needed - watered down and sprayed in when needed

CJ curls in a bottle
CJ aloe fix Lite gel

CJ fuel enhancing spray - for second day spritz

Better go and do my penance now, for spending so much, and make a lovely tea wink

There’s also the CJ Coco Curl Creme Lite. That can work as a leave in and light styler. It works well with CIAB too.

tried to get this one as reviews imply it’s good for fine, wavy type hair - but it was out of stock ...
