Okay I just have to share my love of Kevin Murphy. I was switched on to this brand after getting my hair cut at Saco in London. Since then I’ve completely converted to KM products. At first I tried the Angel Wash and Rinse which were good but not quite moisturising enough. Recently I switched to the Hydrate Me Wash and Rinse which my hair LOVES! The condition of my hair has improved dramatically since I started using this range - it is softer, shinier, less dry and frizzy and bouncier.

The best discovery however is the Motion Lotion. This is the ONLY curl product that has ever worked for my fine curls. It doesn’t weigh them down or make them lank and dull like others do. It really enhances and tightens my curls and makes them smoother and glossier. It’s much lighter in consistency than other curl creams I’ve tried (in fact as the name suggests its a lotion consistency not a cream), and I really have tried them all.

It’s an Australian brand but you can get it on the web or from certain salons including Saco, Charlotte Place (off Goodge Street in London).

For the full range check out http://www.kevinmurphy.com.au/ They aren’t cheap (the shampoos, rinses and motion lotion are about £15-£16 each) but so worth it in my opinion.

If you have fine curls I really recommend you check out the products I’v mentioned and other curly girls may want to check out the range too! Happy to answer any qs!

Hello Alija!
I bought some of this the other day online - can’t wait to get it!
I just wondered how you use it - do you put it on soaking wet hair or more as a styler once it’s dry?

hi - hope you like it! i basically comb my hair through with conditioner in the shower so the curls are defined, then rinse out, gently squeeze excess moisture out of my hair with a towel and then tip my head and gently scrunch in a small amount of the curl lotion taking care not to frizz my hair and to keep the curls nice and defined! i dont separate the curls or comb it through just sort of add it on and scrunch! i let my hair dry naturally.
let me know how you get on!

Alija, many thanks for this recommendation! I too have fine hair and can’t get on with gels (too much crunch and dryness) or most curl creams (too heavy).

There is a Kevin Murphy forum on the naturallycurly.com site where someone suggested mixing Easy Rider and Motion Lotion . This is a great combination! I have soft bouncy curls with none of the crunch you get with gels.

I don’t know how this stuff works as it seems heavy and greasy in the hand, but it works wonders on my hair! Any fine haired curlies out there should give it a whirl.

The only thing I don’t like is the smell of the Motion Lotion (strange chemical smell)...

Just a quick update on my post.

I received my Easy Rider and Motion Lotion and I have to say I am extremely disappointed.  It does nothing to control the frizz and absolutely nothing to enhance my curls :(

I tried each product separately to give both a fair shot but sadly neither worked.

So if anyone that does use them and it works for wants to buy them off me let me know!

T
