Hey wavies!

My hair is mostly wavy, but I have more curly sections around the front of my face, just before it reaches my ears.  Does this sound familiar?

As the hair is curlier round the front, it looks a lot shorter and more voluminous than at the back.  I tend to style it by wearing it ‘half up, half down’, or just by pinning these curlier sections back.

Looking at nc.com and on here, I’m toying with the idea of getting a cut where my front sections appear longer than the hair at the back. I’d have to wait for it to grow out at the moment, though.

Has anyone had this kind of hairstyle? Did it look ok on those rare ironing straight days?

Thanks for your help!

I actually experimented with that look this year, as I have the same problem - ie curly at the sides and straighter at the back.  I quite liked it at first, but after a while it started to look odd (I think it got more and more uneven, plus my hair isn’t always equally curly - some days are straighter).  And as for when I straightened it, it looked seriously weird!  So, I’ve recently had it evened back up to one length all round and it looks much better, even if the curls are still so uneven.

It might work for some people, but definitely wasn’t for me.

Thanks for the feedback.  My hair must be similar to yours, as the curl in it varies so much, too.

I’m contemplating having some long layers cut in instead.  Any wavies tried this look?

you could be talking about my hair, even though it is fine i have so much of it that if its one length it weighs the waves/curls down so last hairdresser suggested shorter layers ending about chin length and still my sides are nearly in ringlets and the back only has a slight wave to it i can’t work it out

Hi wavywantingcurls! I do think we have similar hair—but I think I might be the opposite in terms of strands, as mine are individually quite thick, and I don’t think I have quite as many of them.

I recently bought a Sedusa hair diffuser from ebay, and that works really well for making my hair seem curlier.
