Well, as title says, my book arrived. Iv also got a free dvd which is a bonus.
Iv not been on here much since i have gone cg. Im having a nightmare with my hair. Had it cut twice in a week. Lost alot of my curls.  downer  and cant get my hair in the condition it used to be since being cut.
Im getting really depressed over it all, not helped by my partner asking what have i done with my curls! (dipstic, at least i have hair!)
Since i have gone cg im a fluffy mess. The very nape of my neck has nice thick shiny defined curls. Thats it. I can hardly walk around and work with my head stuck to my chest.
I keep reading and seeing posts of people who have gone cg and their hair is lovely thick defined curls or waves from fuzz and waves to curls etc….I seem to be getting worse.
I done a protein treatment on my hair some time ago. Which my hair loved. It went sooooo curly, shiny, bouncy. It was lovely. However i am nervous of doing to many protein treatments. Esp now as my hair was trashed at first hairdressers. I have sworn never again. So i have 3in roots, and chopped hair!.
Iv started reading my book. I’m going to try some of the home made receipes. I just want my hair back to being difined curls and waves.
I’m determined to try for as long as i can, not go back to shampoo and products. Though i hate to say it, with the shampoos and products, my hair was lovely. Mind that was before it was trashed, sorry cut. lol.
Ill stick to this curl dairy now, well try anyway. lol.

Ill keep updating as i go along…...

Hoping im not going to stay a fluffy, flouncy mess on my head!

I know how you feel, I’ ve not seen any quick results from cg either, but I’m sticking with it like you.  But also like you, my hair had been a bit trashed (colour/razor cut) just before going cg, so it’s hard to know how much it’s previous good condition was due to being pre-trashing rather than to products.  Will be interested to know how you get on, and hope the book will give you some encouragement.

With your protein, if you saw that big improvement maybe you shouldn’t be too afraid of it.  You could introduce it in some co -wash or rinse out products every so often.

smile I understand how you both feel regarding the CG method. I went through a ‘transition’ phase at the start of quite a few weeks, and just as I was about to jack it all in, my hair started to improve! I’m over a year into it now, and whilst of course it doesn’t work for everybody, I’m personally glad I persevered. Hang on in there, and hopefully things will get better, if not at least you’ve tried.

Best wishes. smile

Well today, a second Lorraine Massey book arrived. Slightly different from the first, however the overall book is the same.. I obvs done something when i ordered of Amazon. lol
I bought some boots pink curl cream and boots gel. I couldn’t find a boots curl gel anywhere. (if they sell it)
I also could not find any garinier fructus cg conditioner, they all had cones in. Plus i was looking for a a cg friendly condtioner with lots of protein. Couldn’t find anything. The protein hair care i have is professional and contains loads of naughty ingredients.
I’m going to continue. Wont give up, just im impatient, lol. It looks slightly better today.Well more of a mess, but not soooo fluffly..I used loreal repair as a co wash. No leave in. A big dolop of naked curl serum in soaking wet hair, then scrunched dried. Then naked curl cream and scrunched.
At one time all i had to do was wash, a volume mouse/spray. Abit of scrunch and hellloooo lots of curls and ringlets.. not anymore..
I forgot to buy spray bottles in town. Ill nip to tesco late tonight. I want to try some of the receipes in the book.

Lucyprimrose.
When i had my hair razercut, it loved it. I had it either razered or scizzered going down the shaft. My hair used to spring up in curls as it was being cut. Also when i had it coloured i never had a problem.
Unfortunatly the curl left to have a baby, never went back.
Now i cant find anyone who can cut or colour. The last colour completly trashed my hair. When i told the hairdresser she said it happens!..er noooo..Now two trashed cuts, well second cut was a fix of first cut…....
Ah well, ill keep searching for a hairdresser.
I found out a guy called Micheal, who speclizes in curly hair was 20mins from me. Unfortunatly he moved 6mths ago.  I cant find where he had gone at all..
Untill i find a true curly hair cutter and colourist. No one is touching my hair again. lol

Thank you for the encouragement Proudcurlygirl and Mellonicoley, it really does make me feel better!

Felen, I think you’re right to give your hair a break to recoup naturally for awhile and hopefully by the time it has grown a bit you may have heard of someone near you to try.  Totally understand your fears!  I’ve also found that some colours/highlights did a lot more damage than others,  I think it depends how light you go, how long it is left on, etc.

Sounds like you now have the first and second editions of Lorraine Massey’s book, probably quite an interesting comparison to see what she added or left out.

Thanks Emmab

My hair loves protein. I have 2 treatments left of a profesional product i bought at wholesalers. Unfortunatly it has been discontinued there. I cant find anywhere else to buy it from.
Im def going to look at curly mop etc. As i use Elive restore at mo. My hair loves it. Im now finding treseme naturals is ok’sh.. But the tesco coconut is a no no on my hair. Iv been trying to find a conditioner high in protein which is cg.

On a better note. A couple of people said how they ‘loved’ my hair today, and being short suited me. Not sure if my hair is on the turn. But is was like a birdsnest!..I also twisted and curled into clips. Iv never had to do that before. So onwards with my cg journey…. Looking forward to my curls back

I need some advise on how to use the boots pink curl cream. I used it this morning on soaking wet hair. I think i put to much in, so stuck my head back in shower to get some of it out. How are you supposed to apply it. How much do you apply..

Thanks   grin
