So this NC thread is pretty old but it lifts the lid of alot of scams ‘‘natural’’ hair companies are doing basically selling bases and marketing them as their own Afroveda hairveda beemine etc have been named along with others

I think especially for us brits where we spend so much more anyway due to it being imported cutting out the middle man will save you £££

So for those of you that want to try more american brands that arent offered here please read and make yourself aware wink

Hey cococure. I totally agree. At the moment I’m unemployed and before that I was saving for a wedding. To be honest when I first started out natural, I thought there would be some expensive magic product out there. But evenutally, I thought about how to be self sufficient and not giving money to the “MAN”.  I’m not exactly a hippie or an eco-warrior. Now I’m just a lot wiser…First I look at the price then I check the ingredients. Most products natural, organic and non-organic/non-nonatural contain basic cheap ingredients an2d then they add a little of the “magic” ingredient and fragrance. Sometimes I am shocked at how some expensive products are just a brand” and contain nothing that would actually keep my hair healthy! Not even a smigen of olive oil or shea butter. Shocking! I think since avoiding processed food with additives I try to avoid processed products with additives. Neither is healthy.Lol! Cheers

That was a great thread. Now for the whole natural/organic ingredients propaganda… Don’t get me started on that one. SMH.

Very interesting although I must confess -I havent worked my way through all 27 pages yet!!

One thing though - just our of curiosity I did follow one of the links for these bases and added a $12 size bottle of a base - but the p&p was $50 gulp  so not a viable option unless there is a UK supplier.

perky i dont know what link you used but there are several websites listed with better shipping

The key to shopping on base sites is if you already like a product and know its a base then buy it you buy it in bulk dont buy the smallest size they have

example im going to buy a 22 litre vat of hair conditioner for £230 including shipping(that can be used as a leave in cowash deep con detangler etc)  the same amount of hair conditioner for say curl junkie would cost me well over £1k!!

Shop smarter not harder wink

cj are not bases im giving a example

Thanks for giving the link to that thread…it is a real eye opener.  The most worrying thing is the idea of just not listing cones or other things that might actually be in there.  Does the Hairveda whipped cream hydration ends definitely have petrolatum?

It is one thing to take a base, add a few things and then sell as convenient because ready mixed, but to put the price up much and/or lie and say it is handmade…or to actually miss out ingredients on the list,  hope those companies all get exposed asap.
