Hello everyone!

I am a long time lurker (bad me, I know) and predictably, I come and write just now that I have a problem.
In the last 6/8 months I have gone from being a 3b to a 2c, and even when I tend the best to my blow dry with a diffuser and everything, my curls are not just as tight anymore.
I am blaming it to the fact that I changed colourist exactly by the time this change began, but I still wonder if my original curls are recoverable. I went back to my original hairdresser a couple of months ago, and even if less frizzy and easier to curl the first thing noticeable is that there has been some sort of body loss. I did not lose hair in a noticeable manner at all so I wonder where this loss of volume is coming from too.

I am thinking of trying kerastase nutritive densive a I read great things about it regard the volume loss, but I guess what I am looking for here is to hear that I am not the first one this happens to and that there is hope for my curls yet!

Thanks for your patience and please forgive the drama smile

xx

It could be that the chemical colour has relaxed your curl - was bleach involved? I would just ensure you have the right balance of moisture and protein (protein can perk up your curls - especially if you are fine haired) and maybe try switching to a full CG routine (lose the cones). HTH!

CrystalTips you were spot-on on the proteins, as I do in fact have fine hair. I am using the Aveda be curly conditioner and enhancer at the mo as they carry wheat protein and I can already tell there was a slight improvement, so maybe there’s hope for me yet smile
I am trying to find a leave-in and style for fine hair though that is cone free-as well as it is the conditione, but I am having troubles to find products for curls classified also for fine-coarse hair. I’ve read great things about the CJ CCCC but I am afraid being a cream it might be too heavy for me? Same thing about gels in general. any advice on this would be really appreciated smile

CJ do a light version of the CJCCCC which lots of finer haired curlies use. Am hoping chm (fine haired curly) will chip in here with advice for you.

Hi
I have fine hair and I’ve recently tried CJCCC lite and CJ Curl Queen, a light gel which contains protein, and had good results - my curls seem stronger - must be the protein!
