I wanted to grow out my hair so that i didnt have to keep dying it. At about 6 weeks now and i had a fair amount of regrowth but my roots were just flat, nothing i did would make the top half of my hair curl. So i thought **** it and went and had it dyed, since then its back to being super curly again…....surely it is meant to be the other way around…..

I second protein treatments! Start out with an egg protein treatment for 15/20 minutes, then if that seems to have good results then I’d recommend investing in a higher end one with a substantial amount of protein in - I love Joico K-Pak and Aphogee 2-Step! Always moisturise well afterwards though!

I am too growing out my highlighted hair, got rid of most of it now.

I have found that my new hair needs treated differently to how I was used to treating my highlighted hair. Mine too was not as curly at the roots, but have found out over the last couple of weeks that it was because I was conditioning the roots too much. My new hair isn’t as moisture hungry as the ends and by over conditioning it was weighting down the roots and making it less curly.
