I can’t promise to write every day, but I’ll try to post a few times each week.

I’ve not washed it since Tuesday, which is a really long time for me. But it was looking good and I didn’t want to disturb it!

My ‘normal’ routine:
ACV rinse once a month
DT once a week.  Co-wash, use a leave-in and then follow with a LOT of FSG. Scrunch and then plop and diffuse.

Next scheduled cut: 10 December ‘09.

Wash: Pure Nuff Stuff hair cleanser or Black soap
Rinse out: Faith in Nature Jojoba
Leave-in: If I use one, it’s AOHR
Gel: Home-made flax/aloe/jojoba mix
Scrunchy crunchy: Anita Grant cafe latte
Odds & ends: ACV & honey
I love Flexi-8’s & anything by Anita Grant, Akamuti or Pure Nuff Stuff

You must be doing something right if you haven’t washed your hair since Tuesday,I could never get away with that.

Considering I went out in a howling gale and downpour it’s still looking reasonable if a little frizzy.

This is probably the longest I’ve gone without a wash and I’m getting itchy - my Beloved reckons it’s more psychological because I think I SHOULD wash it rather than need to!  He also says it’s doesn’t smell and feels ‘fantastic’.

I finally gave in and washed my hair this morning.

In the name of experimentation I washed it with - wait for it - instead of condish, the african black soap I’ve been using on my face. It’s shea butter and coconut oil, saponified with burnt cocoa pods, so I decided it couldn’t do any harm. My wet hair felt very soft.

Used GFR&S as leave-in, had the weekly brush with my Tangle Teezer, scrunched in FSG (which I noticed had a different, ‘smoother’, consistency, although very thick - I wonder if this is due to the pre-soak?) and am currently sat plopped in a flour sack.

Weather today is 3 degrees, dry (woo hoo), bright and with a slight breeze. Dew point 0 degrees.

After all I’ve read on dew points I should know how it affects my hair and change my products accordingly…......but I like what I’m using at the moment!

The outcome of today’s hair experiment was well-defined curls. They are a bit on the frizzy side though, but that’s because I forgot I had to go out this afternoon and ended up blasting them with the diffuser on ‘high’. However, my hair feels incredibly soft and smells of grapefruit (the EO I put in FSG).

Happy.

After an overnight ‘pineapple’ my hair was reasonable this morning, so other than a shake and clipping a few strands back with a small Flexi-8 I’ve not done anything to it.

May have to wash tonight and do an overnight plop as I have to get up early tomorrow to trek down to London.

Yesterday I got up early. Water wash with GFS and FSG. Plopped for a short time then diffused.

A good hair day until I got caught in the rain :(

Today I did nothing other than shake and then clip the sides up. A good 2nd day.

An observation about 2nd hair days.

I never really had good 2nd hair days after I went CG.

However.

I am getting them now - and I mean REALLY GOOD 2nd day hair - and have even been getting great 3rd day hair.

So what’s different?

EllaGeorgina is going to love this.

It’s since I started using Garnier Fructis Repair and Shine on British Curlie’s recommendation.

Woo hoo!

Great news jl - are you using GFRS as a rinse out as well as a leave-in? I haven’t really played around with it enough yet - I’ve just, occasionally, been using a little (from mid-lengths down to tips) as a leave-in. I’ve been meaning to try as a rinse out but have been put off a little with all this ‘itchy scalp’ talk! lol

Yup, rinse-out and leave-in - and the itchy head has cleared up. No idea what was causing that.

You’re not alone on the itchy thing - quite a few curlies have said same thing with GFRS - wonder why?

Hmmm, I get this sometimes too.  I always thought it was from over doing it with the gel, and the gel flaking off irritated my scalp.  Maybe I’m wrong.  I’m coming to the end of my GFRS so I’ll go a few weeks without and monitor the situation.  Thanks for the heads up!

Last night I hit the bottle, that Clairol 10 minute stuff, dark brown. I’m getting increasingly silver!  No problems with application. Followed with a GFR&S co-wash, then also used as a leave-in and loads of FGS. Plopped for 20 mins then diffused to completely dry. Scrunched out a teeny bit of crunch with Anita Grant’s Cafe Latte.  Great curls, well-defined and really shiny.

The crunch I get is from the amount of honey I put in the FSG. I do need the extra hold in this wet and windy weather.

This morning my curls were still good, another 2nd day!

Weather today - wet and windy.

Tomorrow’s forecast is the same, and I’m on public transport as I’m going to Civil Service Live in Manchester. Not that it’s relevant to my hair!

Today was an excellent hair day. Usual routine, same products, nothing different.

Of course, making my own FSG is the unknown factor - there’s no way all batches are the same.

Weather: windy early and wet later. Due to the wind factor I didn’t scrunch the crunch until I’d reached my destination

And that excellent hair day lasted - I’m now on 3rd day hair and it still looks good - if a little big as it was very damp outside yesterday.
