If only that post existed six months ago when I was doing my coursework!  Actually it will still help cos that topics in my exam in January….have found another revision aid!! LOL theres an excuse to be on here more.

I’m pretty sure there have been other studies where people have been given tryptophan (sorry if its spelt wrong, haven’t had to type that for a few months)...I don’t think I found that one but know I read one where there was some really postive results.

Thats fantastic, thank you very much!  I think I’m doing pretty much most of it, but will increase to make sure its adequately covered.  I think more fish and not scrimping on the carbs is most applicable to me!

And is that why turkey is the classic choice for a winter feast?  Strange how these things tend to all line up, its as if our ancestors knew somehting we didn’t!

I find his books very interesting - and he has some credibility if you go waltzing into the GP’s surgery waving a copy!

Thanks so much for that, Janeyliz! That was so interesting - particularly:

“Low oestrogen means low serotonin and low moods. This is because oestrogen blocks the breakdown of serotonin.  This may largely explain when women are more prone to depression pre-menstrually and in the menopause and thereafter.”

Will purchase the book and read up grin

I don’t think you’re being a hypocondriac curlybird.

I always liked winter growing up, and still enjoy the whole thing of sitting at home when it’s cold all wrapped up in a big jumper or the duvet. But lately I just seem to be so much happier when it’s sunny out - I mean, completely elated, which is a feeling that I just don’t get in the winter any more. The lumie clock sounds like a good idea, especially for when it’s a pitch black winter morning.

At least we have summer ahead of us for a few months! smile
