I live just outside of London, in Herts and woke up to a blanket of snow, which mostly melted away by lunch time.  As the teachers could not get into work the school was closed, so me and the kids have been indoors all day, just looked out the window to see more snow falling.

Kept having showers of it yesterday.

There wasn’t any at half 6 this morning,  by 8 we had over 2 inches, couldn’t see the other side of the road (it was still coming down really heavily), and the schools were shut. Typically they shut on last day of term, when everyone actually wants to go in.

Unfortunately I can’t go out and play…have been ill (again) since last friday. On a more positive note, I’ve actually finished the coursework (finally)!

It’s been snowing on and off all day, they even closed Manchester airport for a while, which is just down the road. The temp is supposed to drop tonight, so the side roads will be interesting in the morning!

What fascinated me today is how people don’t know how to drive in the snow.  I can’t decide if it’s because:

they haven’t done it before (for a variety of reasons, inc. only just passed their test)
they don’t know what to do
they know what to do but panic
they panic anyway.
