I love Miss Jessie’s products. It took a while in the beginning for me to learn how much product to use (not a lot is needed) as I would get varying results. Now, I get great results each time. I started off with the Curly Pudding and Curly Meringue, and I’m now considering trying the Stretch silkening creme.

I only wish their products were a bit cheaper...

and more organic oil because mineral oil is not great.

Hiya,

I just watched the last Kimmaytube video (I really like her work). She mentionned that the Miss Jessie’s Curly Meringue has got “silicone, among other things”...
Now what do yo go and say things like that on the day I received my emporium order smirk

Hi Cat25

There is a full ingredients list for all products stocked in the Emporium. The ingredients for the Miss Jessie’s Curly Meringue can be found here:
http://www.britishcurlies.co.uk/store/products/Miss-Jessie’s-Curly-Meringue-16oz.html

If you click on ‘other details’ - you will find additional info for the product (including whether it is silicone free).

The Curly Meringue is silicone free (it does contain a water soluble silicone - which cowash out). However, this product does contain mineral oil (parafinium liquidum) so will probably need to lo poo. Therefore, it cannot be considered CG.

Thank you for your reply CrystalTips.
I do try and look at the ingredients lists but these scientific words tend to make me lightheaded…  tongue rolleye

I will still use the product, as I found it to work for me, and lo-poo.

I’ve tested several times Miss Jessie’s curly Meringue with various results.
The 2 first time, I’ve used it over a heavy LI and the definition was really nice but my hair was extremely dried out.
So, I sold the 2 jars I had!

It’s not coherent but I tried it again this morning (I still have a little) without any leave-in and the result is AMAZING. I apply it directly on freshly wash damp hair (without any leave-in). I was expecting even more dry curls, but at the opposite. My curls are soft (no crunchy), well moisturized, really well defined, bouncy and voluminous. Just the way I want it to be - just perfect.
So, so far, this product is a winner. The only drawback is the fact that it contains mineral oils. I low poo so it will be removed but I’m psychologically concerned sick

Whatever, I’ve just received a jar of Stretch Silkening Creme another one of Quick Curl. Those 2 products are lighter than Curl Meringue so I expect them to give me even more volume (I love big hair).
I’ll try the Stretch Silkening creme tomorrow and will review it tomorrow…

A quick review about the styling products from Miss Jessie’s:

Curly Meringue: I actually like it a lot. I’ve used it on fresh washed hair, plop for 25 min, diffuse and then scrunch some Curl Buttercream. I really like it. Nice curls definition, medium hold and great volume. The only drawback is the frizz I get at the end of the day. The scent is pleasant: tropical.

Strech Silkening Cream:I love this cream. I got a lot of volume with this cream (I love big hair). My cut is even different, more like a triangle due to the amazing volume I get. I got a bit less definition than with the Curly Meringue, due to the softer hold this cream deliver. I also got some frizz (more) with it at the end of the day. But, I expect this to work even, better with more practice and to become one of my favourite curl creams. The consistency is similar to Curly Meringue: quite quick cream. The scent is strange, it reminds me of detergent products, I don’t like it.

Quick Curls:
I’ve used it this morning for the first time. I really like the consistency, it reminds me of the Mixed Chicks leave-in: quite thin consistency and a bit sticky (which indicate a medium hold). I spread easily through the hair and detangle them at the same time due to the slippy consistency (I love that, give generally great clumpage). I got amazing definition and a nice medium hold with the Quick Curls. It’s supposed to be the lightest of their styling products, but surprisingly, I’ve applied fewer products and fell it more moisturizing than the others… Strange
The volume is nice too, but less than with the 2 previous products. I expected this one to be my favourite but I prefer the Strech Silkening Cream so far, due to the volume.

Still have to try the Rapid Recovery…

I love Kinky Curly products…I use the shampoo, conditioner and curly custard exclusively. I am looking for a deep conditioner that works well with the KC line. Any comments on Miss Jessie’s Rapid Recovery deep treatment?
