Ok I finally got round to using my DevaCurl products today…so thought I’d give you my verdict!

Started off with the Low-Poo:

Smell - It started off with a citrus smell, then a flowery smell then I decided it was a fruity smell - either way, it smelt good so no complaints there!
Texture - Quite runny and as as you would expect with a low-poo only a small lather.
Overall -  Not bad, but nothing special considering all the hype.

One-Condition:

Smell - Pretty offensive!  long face  It smelt exactly like kitchen/bathroom cleaner - think CIF and you’ll get what I’m talking about, I reckon this could double up as an effective grout cleaner on my bathroom tiles!
Texture - Again, think CIF and you’ll get the picture. Which makes me think, surely they must know it doesn’t smell good - WTF!? It says it contains: Olive, Fruit Oil, Balm Mint, Hops, Lemongrass, Rosemary to name a few, but combined together its just a mess.
Overall - It was pretty rubbish as a conditioner, I struggled to get my tangle teezer through my hair (Ok, I do have knot city on top of my head), but other conditioners have worked WAY better than this.
Overall - Very disappointed! :(

Deva Curl - Arc AnGEL (Firm hold defining gel):
Smell: This smelt like the orange cream chocolates you get in Quality Street/Roses (the orange smell, not the chocolate smell!) so that was all good in my book!
Texture:Ok, this was a medium gel texture (think UG), once I distributed it through it seem to disappear in my hair so I found it hard to judge what bits I had done, what I’d missed and I couldn’t work out if I needed to apply more or not.

Set It Free:
Smell: Think toilet cleaner…enough said.
This is a spray that is supposed to add moisture to the hair, can be used on wet or dry hair - but quite frankly a waste of space product! Useless.

Deva Curl Diffuser:
This gives off 360 degree heat, as there are holes in the top of the ‘hand’ as well as the bottom. I’ve used this a few times now, but I’m not exactly impressed. It almost feels like it’s steaming my hair, which is creating humidity which is creating frizz - I must be going wrong somewhere here - I just don’t get it!?
I get much better results from my normal bowl diffuser.

Anyway, after drying - I have been left with the curly frizz ball I had as a teenager and that was THE 80’S!!! No great curl definition, other than a few nice ringlets at the front but it feels like candy floss….and it strangely WIDE!

Soooooo not a happy bunny!  downer

might just be because its the first time you’ve used these products that your hair hasn’t turned out as good.  Hopefully the smells go of the ones you don’t like!  Great review.  Try again with them tho.  (even if you have to wait till its not so cold to see if they work better)

CT I agree, it might be worth just trying one new thign at a time to get a feel for how it works.

You and try and experiment with the application as well, I always start by sticking strictly to the instructions, then change how I use them to see if I can improve the performance.

Good luck, hope it does work out for you Xxx

How did you get on with the deva diffuser? Did it get any better?? I saw it and thought it looked great but its dead expensive, especially to buy it from the US (does somewhere in the UK sell them?)! Would love to know if it actually does work better than a normal diffuser. Cheers!

I haven’t seen any of the Deva range available in the UK as yet - I’m still not getting to grips with the deva diffuser really. I think a big bowl diffuser works better for me!

Yeah I must admit, as good as this looked on paper I wasn’t too sure how well it would work! It takes me long enough with a bowl drier to dry all my masses of hair… I liked the idea that it fits on the top of most hairdriers as I can never get to dry my hair aftetr swimming as my diffuser attachment doesn’t fit on any other hair drier it seems…. if i ever see a leisure centre that comes with a diffuser drier for its curly haired customers I’d literally jump for joy and be the most loyal customer ever ha ha.

Yep, that’s the other thing I forgot to mention - despite the ‘360 degrees airflow’ (!) it takes AGES for it to dry my hair!

Also, funny you should mention about it fitting most hairdryers, as when I got it and tried it on my spare hairdryer I had with me at the time - it didn’t fit! Luckily it fitted my main dryer.

I know you can get the diffusers that have the spring type fittings (I have one of those as well!) and they’re pretty much a universal fitting as they hold on to the end of the nozzle (if that makes sense!?).

Nope, not the sock thingy. Its a basic plastic bowl diffuser - but the end part is spring loaded so it fits snug to the end of the nozzle (well that’s the plan, as the one I have fits one dryer - but not the other, just like the Deva one!)

Just googled these for you…!

Old post - but did you ever get Devacurl products to work for you?

I was thinking of getting some from Amazon- but then saw it would cost me £70 for 4 products and as its shipped from America - I’d probably get hit with custom charges!
