Thanks Keisha Jo and TripleA!!!
To be honest I don’t really know my type so I say 3c/4a or the other way round.

I have quite a few YTbers I’ve subscribed to it might be worth us all combining them in a thread divided by hair type? That might help along with fotkis/photobuckets(whatever online albums ppl are using).. just a thought

Hi Lyoness

I think that is a great idea. The more information we can get added to the Curl Forum will make it an even more useful source for Curlies across the UK. If you need any help give me a shout! grin

I’ve been using vatika oil for the past two months, I’m a real product junkie so it constantly changes.. I also like castor oil, avocado oil. When I do twist outs I use AG sapcoate pomade as a sealant. I think those are about it.. You’ll be fine with AG’s stuff I’m sure.

Hi all,

I just joined this site. So good to have a site for the British curlies.

I def have type 4 hair. With so many different textures and curls sizes its unbelievable. I am trying to follow the curly girl method since by BC in January. Its been a learning process and not always easy.
The shampoos have gone and alot of styling products that I used to use and my hair thanks me for it.
I was such a PJ initially but I’ve discovered that my hair likes to keep things simple.

Castile soap to wash my hair once a week, Co-wash 3-4 times a week with Tigi moisture maniac. I’ve found using aussie moist as a leave-in has been the best decision I have made. My hair stays soft until the next wash. Raw unrefined Shea butter is the BEST THING EVER. As a sealant over my leave-in and my hair is soft, easy to manage and lovable. I can’t get enough of that good stuff mixed with some coconut oil and I’m in hair heaven.

I now sleep in satin pillow cases (I’m lazy and crash to sleep before I find my scarf), it has reduced the amount to single strand knots significantly and reduces dryness. Those cotton pillow cases drink the moisture out of your hair.

Those on CG, what products do you use?

Ridiculously thick, highly textured hair.

I am a mix of 3c/4a. I am hoping to learn a few tips from the forum about hair care. I hope we get more type 4 culies to join soon as well since I am sure we can learn from each other.
