I got this recipe from another forum and have been using it since last weekend.  It is really easy to make and more importantly works!  Well worth trying if anyone isn’t liking the normal deodorants.

1 tablespoon cornflour
1 tablespoon b of soda
1 tablespoon of olive oil
6 drops tea tree oil
6 drops any other essential oil you have

Mix together.  I have it in a little jar with a screw top.  (you don’t need a huge container).  Then when using its like a lotion so I just rub a bit on my underarms.  It may feel a little ‘gritty’ when you are rubbing it in but that goes.

Okay I just finished mixing mine. That was very quick and easy. I used Ylang Ylang as the other essential oil and it looks fab! A nice paste so I am excited to see how it works for me today.  wink Thanks Mich!

I like the sound of this as we’ve been trying to be ‘aluminium free’ for a long time now, but it can be hard to find something that works.

It’s alright for David as he doesn’t perspire (I do sometimes wonder if he’s an alien) but I run on a very hot thermostat and I get VERY hot and sticky - especially if I’m running about in London or doing presentations.

How good is it, and does it stop wet patches? CHM, have you used it while playing netball? TIA smile

I haven’t given it the netball test yet, but I have had no wet patches with it.  I will however say that I don’t get them as a rule.  I have found it good.  I had been using the ‘one world’ deodorant as opposed to regular stuff but it wasn’t really working for me by the end of the day, whereas with this I do not smell sweat at any time!  rolleyes

I use the crystal one.  Plenty of wet patches (unfortunately!) but no smell ever.

My friend told me that, in general, women are less efficient than men at keeping heat in, which is why I’m always cold all the time and he’s like a human radiator!

Also, since I’ve stopped using the usual deoderants, I’ve noticed that it’s not as bad as when I used them but then forgot for a day - kinda like my body detoxed out of it!
I will get some cornflour on Saturday and try this though!

This is great feedback - so I may give it a go.

One question though: men tend to be on the hairy side, so do you think that it will still work on David’s hairy armpits?  Sorry to be so blunt!
