Everything everyone says about this ‘gel’ ( has gel properties but texture is lovely - not gel like at all!) is true!  It’s brilliant, it’s the only way I can get 2nd , sometimes 3rd day hair.  Smells gorgeous too, I’ve also got the pomade which is great if you need to crunch the scrunch ,or on dry ends. Can’t wait to use up other products so I can try more.Brilliant!!!!!

Can I ask how you girls are using this, or how much? If I use too much I get white flakes, but too little results in zero definition…

Hi ToTheSky

I put a very small bit on my hands and rub them together, then just scrunch it into my hair - I do this after plopping for about 10/15 mins.  I also put a bit on my ends. I find it works best if I don’t use too many other products underneath - just normally a bit of leave in conditioner - hope this helps - if you really can’t get on with it let me know and maybe we could either do a swap or I could buy what you have left - good luck!  I also use a tiny bit on hair in the same way for 2nd day hair that’s not been washed

I have found this gel works best for me on freshly washed hair soaking wet and no leave-in conditioner underneath. Every leave-in I tried resulted in white bits. I use a generous amount to coat my hair until slick and it does the job beautifully. HTH smile

Thanks CurlyCarrie and KJ for your input!

The thing is I don’t really like scrunching product in my hair anymore, but I usually don’t rub this gel in my hands first, instead I rake it through directly onto my hair. I think I will try emulsifying it first and thgen working it through so thanks!

KJ, I also think it works best with nothing underneath. I did try it with the Silk Conditioning Mist from Crown Pride (as recommended) but it left my hair really soft and quite flyaway. I’ll give it another go today though, it seems like it should be the thing that should work for me so I really want it to!

Has anyone else experienced a strange…dusty residue with this?

Im trying to figure out if it is the CP gel causing this - teeny tiny dry bits completely covering my hair. They difficult to see unless your up close (like I am lol).

I didn’t use a leave-in underneath as was mentioned in this thread. Its a shame because I got nice curls and definition at the same time.

Tried this again today - forgetting the rule not to use a leave-in underneath and already in wet hair I can see white bits everywhere. Sigh.

Lucky I don’t need to go anywhere today!

iv been using the crown styling gel for a few months now, and its da best iv used so far…its nice and thick, which gives weight to da hair, which i need, plus it gives great hold…iv tried other curl gels but they were much thinner n slightly runny but they dont work for me so well as they give nice curl formation but not much hold, my styles wudnt last more den 2- 3 days.

With the crown gel i can get more den a week most of the time, the only downside is it doesnt mix well with alot of things, causes white flakes, i can only use it with a runny oil such as olive oil. Also i hav to use it on soakin wet hair to get the best curls/coils.
