Product Description

Healthy Hair Conditioning Butter

This hand whipped Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme is an all natural hair butter for moisturizing, styling and conditioning your natural coils.

It absorbs instantly into hair to replenish much needed moisture, provides softness, sheen & promotes healthy hair growth.

This highly moisturizing butter is very thick & concentrated so a little goes a long way. It is perfect for type 3-4 naturals:)

It has a very thick concentrated butter-like consistency with the sweet smell of gently infused African Madagascar Vanilla that is truly heavenly! Our customers love the scent. Many say it smells like vanilla ice cream, some say it smells like a sweet bourbon vanilla, depending upon how long we infuse the vanilla:)

HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Our Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme is a luscious blend of all natural oils that will provide healthy conditioning, add sheen, softness & moisture to your naturally curly hair.

WHAT'S IN IT?
Organic Palm Oil, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Madagascar Vanilla, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, Candelilla Wax, Organic Castor Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil and Potassium Sorbate.

HOW DO I USE IT?
*Use it as a hair moisturizer to naturally condition dry curls, locs & waves.
*Use as a styling butter for twists, braids, afros, and locs.
*Use to promote healthy hair growth
*Many of our customers also use it as a body butter!!! Works great as a multi-purpose hair & body butter:)

SPECIAL NOTE: Darcy's Botanicals now use CANDELILLA WAX instead of beeswax in this recipe due to popular demand:)

Everyone's hair and body responds differently to different ingredients.
Before using any product please perform a patch test on the inner part of your elbow. If irritation occurs discontinue use.

  1. Lovely Smell

Posted by Nefertari on 21st Aug 2011

I just love this product! It's creamy, thick and not too greasy. Shinny & healthy hair!

  2. HORRIBLE smell

Posted by Unknown on 20th May 2011

I just cannot use this. The smell of vanilla is so strong that it actually smells of alcohol - like vanilla liqueur, as another reviewer said, only worse. Tried it once and had to immediately wash it out as it was making me feel sick!

From the mixed reviews and the info in the product description, it looks like it will be hit and miss on whether you get a pleasant smelling product, or one that leaves you reaching for a bucket. It all depends on the "vanilla infusion time", apparently. Looks like they've got some quality control issues :/

  3. I am loving this stuff!

Posted by Fefi on 2nd May 2011

At first this product made my 3c,4a,4b hair too dry, it just caked it up and turned my hair white as if I'd put glue in it. Then I tried the smallest amount on my son's edges and like magic it made it super soft and shiny. I decided to use it over the DB Avocado and Honey twisting creme and braided my son's hair. It stayed soft all week. So I thought I'd give it another go on my own hair and like magic it scrunched out the crunch from my natural coils curling jelly. I use about the size of a 5p a couple of times and my hair stays shiny and soft all day long. Love this stuff.

  4. great for twist and braid out

    Posted by älskling92 on 18th Apr 2011

The first time I used it, I expected a stronger vanilla smell but anyway..
This creme is very moisturising and at the same time great for twist and braid out. Better than gel that usually leaves residue.

  5. Oops!

Posted by Miss M on 23rd Mar 2011

Just to add to my review below...DO use a leave in underneath...clearly KKNT was too heavy to combine with this product. I will be trying a leave in by Darcy's because after doing some reading it will probably give even better results with a leave in. This will also mean I use even less of the styling product :) Its all about trying what works for you..and of course having fun while your doing it!Good luck!!!

  6. Possibly a staple :) 3c Great for braid outs!!

Posted by Miss M on 23rd Mar 2011

I am still playing around with this product, however what I do know so far is that this little beauty....tames frizz, defines curls, moisturises and adds a brilliant sheen.

The key is (like allot of people are real quick to point out) that a little goes a VERY LONG way!!! So you really need to work it to get the right amount for your hair.Use less to start and add more after your first trial if need be. If you make the mistake of using too much your hair will be a greasy weighed down jerri curl gone wrong mess... not a good look! There is no need to add a leave in underneath this product, given the consistency which means saving £££££ :D the most I would do is add some coconut oil. In my trials I have used KKNT as a leave in and there was absolutely no need.

The only con is the smell, its certainly not bad,its just not what I deem to be a Vanilla fragrance. The scent is a kind of nothingness.
I really like scent in my hair and I love the smell of Curls Whipped Pudding BUT the fact that you can use so little of this multi purpose product and still get great results makes it a winner. I'll just be adding my own scented products, ie a very small amount of Oyin Burnt Sugar, as a refresher on day 2 ect for a wonderfully yummy scent :)

I would recommend this product!! Good luck and have fun!!

  7. Soft and Sweet

Posted by Unknown on 31st Jan 2011

I love how soft this cream is and how quickly and easily it absorbs into my hair. It smells sweet too. This may be my new staple.

  8. Fantastic

Posted by Julia D on 14th Oct 2010

I have been natural for years but have been trying to find a product that doesnt dry out my tresses!! I think I've found it here.
I did a twist out and my hair is so soft and bouncy and I'm a 4a hair type.
    I absolutely love it!
Tried so many other products before and they dont work like this.
Really happy with this purchase and will be buying more!!
    Thankyou Darcy!:-))

  9. one that I wont be using..

Posted by Karis on 26th May 2010

Not terribly impressed. The smell is awful - not vanilla at all, more like a sweet liqueur that really hits the back of your nostrils. I tried it on my 3c/4a hair and didn't find it very moisturising either, just sort of greasy. Even if the product worked, I don't think I could handle smelling like that all the time.

  10. Fantastic and very moisturising

Posted by Jay on 14th Apr 2010

My daughter's 3c hair doesn't like Shea butter - it leaves behind white residue in her hair. I have been searching for a hair butter that does not contain any shea butter, and this product is perfect for her hair. It moisturises it, defines her curls and leaves it soft, with no white build-up. I will be buying this again!

  11. I'm luvin it!!

Posted by Mandy J on 4th Feb 2010

This is my favourite product yet since discovering natural hair products.

The smell really is like sweet vanilla bourbon. On opening the tin I expected a softer consistency like a cream gel, but it was solid in appearance. Ater touching it i was amazed at the softness of this product and how it melted on contact into an oil, but without the greasiness of old fashioned hair oils.

It is a like a cream that absorbs into the hair and moisturises every strand of my daughter's 3c hair and my 4b hair.

I use it for twisting and plaiting our hair and just general moisturisation of hair and scalp. I even tried it on my body, excelllent especially if you have very dry skin.

I would highly reccomend this product for 3c - 4c hair types if you love a moisture rich product without water in it, which often creates shrinkage in natural hair, and there is no build up if you want to use it on a daily basis.

Can't wait to try more products from Darcy's!!

  12. i like it

Posted by Unknown on 17th Jan 2010

It made my hair feel soft. The smell isn't that nice but i do like the feel of the product. It seem to just melt into my hair and it doesn't leave any residue and it doesn't make my hair feel greasy.

  13. Not sure

Posted by Unknown on 21st Nov 2009

I'm not really sure about this product. I really wanted to like it I'm not sure if it's too much oil or what but all I got was greasy looking hair that didn't feel moisturised at all.
I will keep trying but I don't think it's going to be for me, i like the smell and thats about it so far

  14. 0 stars!

Posted by Type 4 afro-kinky queen on 16th Nov 2009

I think I was probably the first person in the UK to try this product, because I had it shipped directly from the US, before you could buy it here. I did not like it at all! It had a strong unpleasant smell on my type 4 hair and it didn't really moisturise it all!
