Now the weather has started to change, it may be time to consider protective styling.
What is protective styling?
Protective styling is a way to protect your delicate ends during the colder months. Keeping your ends tucked away protects them from the environment; keeping them from drying out and breaking. Your ends are the most fragile part of your hair and can break or split. If this starts to happen, the split will run up the stand, making the strands weak and more likely to snap.
How long can you leave a protect style in for?
You can maintain a protective style for up to eight weeks at a time. If you leave it in for too long, you run the risk too much stress on the scalp, resulting in shedding and hair loss. If you can, take out your style to wash, condition and detangle before re-styling your hair to keep it healthy and maintained.
