January has rolled around quicker than ever, so while everyone is signing up to the gym, promising themselves to eat healthier why not focus the New Year on your curls.
If you are planning to start the Curly Girl routine or follow it more strictly this year, have a read through our articles to refresh yourself on the best practices here.
Of course not everyone wishes to use the CG method so if your products are working for you *thumbs up*.
Don’t forget to do a final wash before you start. This means using a cleanser that is strong enough to remove product build up, silicones and other ingredients that aren’t CG friendly out of your hair.
Don’t be scared if this results in a bad hair day! Your curls may dry out and you may suffer through a bad hair day, but your curls will thank you for it in the long run. The most important step is conditioning and deep conditioning after you have washed to minimise the effects of the sulphates.
Exclusive! Trepadora has just released their Gojiberry Mint Reviving Hair Rinse which is a great product to use as a final wash. This does not contain sulphates and will still retain the natural moisture in the curls.
Deep Condition Once a Week
Start the year with good intentions and deep condition once a week. Some deep conditioners don’t require hours of sitting with product on your curls. Check out Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque You can leave this on for just five minutes.
